What if life only lasted a day?
Then maybe one day would be enough.
And no one would have an unheard say,
And maybe I would be enough.Perhaps the world wouldn't be so broken,
It wouldn't want to shatter us with impossible cards.
I wouldn't try to cut us open,
To simply watch us become monsters with small hearts.Because haven't we given enough?
Of our souls of our lives...
Haven't we given enough
To a universe full of lies? We're always the fools
With the shattered hearts.
Brought to pieces by rules
Who won't let us play our parts. One day.
Would it be enough?
One day,
To turn around what cruelty made rough.Psychopathically made
To torture everyone;
This bed where we laid
Was covered with guns. One day wouldn't suffice,
But it won't bring us to our knees,
Like these constant years sacrificed,
By an inhumanity that made us bleed. We brought ourselves to this point of horror,
Where we stop and wonder,
If twenty-four hours would be a less painful order,
Than a lifetime of bloodshed locked away in a folder. What our lives amount to
Can't be made in a day.
But perhaps it means that what humanity made the world do
Wouldn't exist to make us pray.Pray to the lost,
And to the found,
That our happiness won't be what it costs,
To stop our heroes from burying us in our own ground. It isn't fair,
It isn't right.
But now we all share
A one and only fight. All because life doesn't last a day.
And we won't be hushed, that I swore,
So the world can hear our final say.
Because it's only our first war.

PoetryIf there was a price in emotion, this book would cost it all... Our tears were melodies that made our feelings a symphony. My life flashed before my eyes. And I got to fall in love with you all over again. I'm fine. But that's a lie.
