✫ ༒ Joey ༒ ✫Standing behind school, I pulled a smoke out of my pocket and lit it.
Taking a drag of the familiar substance, I tried to let my anxiety wash away. It was the first day back from summer holiday and I was already done with this place.
I had gotten home from training last night to Tadhg dripping blood all over the house from a bloody nose my da had given him.
I should've been there to stop it but I was fucking training.
Apparently dad had hit Shannon so Tadhg hit my dad. Which was clearly a fight he couldn't win.
The door next to me swung open, and I glanced towards it, not giving a fuck if it was a teacher waiting to have me suspended for smoking on school property.
Instead I was met with the girl I had seen earlier. I had remembered her face because it was a really nice face.
She had light brown hair and what I could now make out as hazel eyes with specks of green and yellow in them. She had a cute button nose, high cheek bones and pouty lips that were a striking shade of peach.
She was another level of pretty.
"Looking for something?" I asked, as I inhaled another drag.
"No-," She blushed, "I mean, yes! I was, um, I just needed a minute of fresh air."
"Already," I smirked, "You've only just got here."
"Well, you're out here too," She shrugged, her eyes landing on my smoke, "Those will kill you, ya know. About ninety percent of people with lung cancer are smokers."
"Is that a real statistic?" I cocked an eyebrow.
"Yes," She blushed, "But now I'm embarrassed that I know that."
"Don't be," I smiled.
"I'm Gabriella, by the way," She rocked back and forth on her feet, "Or Gabby."
"Joey," I nodded.
"I know," Her face flushed, "Oh my god. Now you think I'm some psycho stalker."
I laughed.
The girl was clearly not an expert at talking to lads.Usually I would think of that as a turn off but for some reason her doing it was...endearing?
"I'm not by the way," She blurted out, "Cam mentioned who you were."
"Ah, yes, Cam. That girls quite the handful," I muttered.
"She said the same about you," Gabriella smiled.
"So, you're new here," I said as more of a statement than a question.
"Is it that obvious?" She groaned leaning against the side of the school next to me.
"No, I just think I would've remembered a face like yours," I smirked as her cheeks turned pink.
"You don't have a bad face yourself," She smiled.
"Thanks, new girl," I nudged her arm with mine.
