✫ ༒ Joey ༒ ✫It was close to five in the evening, Podge, Alec and I were running around the pitch at the GAA Pavilion, when we noticed a few silhouettes staring at us from across the way.
"They're definitely watching us," Podge muttered.
I squinted trying to make out the faces of the six people lingering on the other side of the pitch.
"I think they're from Tommen," Alec noted. "I've definitely seen that big fella in the local paper playing rugby."
"Yeah, they drink in Biddies."
"The fuck are they doing here?" I bit out, the mention of Tommen reminding me of the girl I was trying to force out of my mind.
"Yeah. Wrong pitch."
"Wrong side of town, more like."
"Give me a sec," I snapped, tearing off my helmet. "I'll sort this."
"Don't lose the head, Joe," Podge warned, racing after me.
"Yeah, lad," Alec agreed. "There's six of them over there."
"Got a staring problem, assholes?" I shouted.
"Ah, Jesus," Alec groaned. "We're going to die."
"Are ye deaf?" I demanded. "I asked ye a fucking question!"
"Yeah, that's the one," one of the lads said, before moving to hide behind a bigger lad. "You do the talking, Gibs."
Gibs.
The name sounded familiar, but I wasn't sure why.
"Howdy, friend." A blond with a giant goofy smile gave me a wave.
"I'm not your friend," I seethed. "And last time I checked, the rugby club was on the other side of town. You have no business here."
"Oh, Jesus." The blonde laughed, "Are we about to have a turf war?"
"A turf war?" I cocked a brow, wondering what the fuck was wrong with this lad.
"Yeah." He nodded. "Like the T-birds and the Scorpions in Grease."
"Grease?" I gaped. "What the fuck are you talking about?"
"Don't mind Gibsie," another lad spoke up, this one definitely looked familiar. "He's a fair bit dysfunctional."
"How do I know you?" I asked, my eyes narrowed into slits.
"I'm Hughie Biggs," he offered. "Our sisters are friends."
"Yeah," the blond nodded. "We come in peace."
"Shut up, Gibs," Hughie muttered. "Jesus, lad."
Why the hell was the name Gibs so damn familiar?
"What are you doing here, Biggs?" I asked. "What do you want?"
"Looking for you, actually."
