"Hey Saint, I heard you were looking for me?" Freen took a seat on the couch throwing her head back and letting her stiff body relax. Saint who was on his laptop looked up smiling at her. "Hey stranger, where you been?" He put the laptop down and focused his attention on her. Freen shrugged nonchalantly as she remembered the events of the night before where she was holding Becky in her arms. She remembered how the smaller girl had eventually snuggled up next to her and eventually climbed into Freen's arms. Freen watched her intently all night trying to memorize every aspect of her and had been pleasantly surprised when Becky had found her way deep into her arms. She had tried to remain as still as possible as to not stir her sleep but found it hard to keep her hands from caressing and feeling her small frame underneath her. She could feel the warmth radiate from her against Freen's cold body and listened to the melodic beat of her heart against Freen's almost dead heart. The soft warm breath against her skin would have surely given her goosebumps if her half dead body would have allowed it. Freen hated living for eternity but if it meant spending it with Becky in between her arms, Freen was more than happy to live a thousand lives. She smiled as she remembered how she pretended to be asleep as Becky stirred and the panic she showed when she saw herself in between Freen's arms. Freen had played it cool like she was unaware but had really enjoyed teasing her when she woke up.

"Freen?" Freen snapped out of it and looked at Saint. "Huh?" Saint looked at her confused and examined her for a moment. "Are you okay? You seem... distracted." Freen sat up and shook her head. "I'm listening. Now what were you saying?" Saint nodded and repeated himself. "I was saying that you've been M.I.A these days, well at least more than usual. Is everything okay?" Freen nodded nonchalantly. "Yea just been around keeping an eye out for this guy." Saint nodded in understanding. "Any new findings?" Freen shook her head. "No. He's been eerily quiet." Saint nodded in agreement. "He might have moved on knowing he was outnumbered here." Freen stared off into space thinking. "No, he's still here, I can feel it. Someone has peeked his interest and I don't think he's giving up that easily. We need to keep our guard up." Saint frowned staring intently at her. "What do you know?" Freen remained quiet questioning if she should let Saint know about the threat he left on her bed.

"Not much, but I have a feeling he's up to no good. Something is coming and we need to be prepared." Saint studied Freen and broke the momentary silence. "We'll continue watch around the area. Don't worry too much Freen, our people got it covered. He doesn't stand a chance against us." Freen listened thoughtfully but continued to worry inside. "So listen, I've been in communication with our informant at the police department. They were unable to find a conclusive cause of death for the chief, but there were lesions found on his neck. The killer is very clearly a vampire but the humans don't know that and it's our job that it stays that way. I've been investigating what the chief of police was doing so late at night in the forest alone and it looks like he was probably meeting someone. I have a suspicion it was the vampire that killed him, but I just haven't figured out why. I need you to work with the police and figure out more information. I have limited access to anymore information and it would be best if you get involved. I need you to keep the police off our back and try to find out more information about this strange meeting and let me know your findings." Freen nodded in agreement.

"Hey Freen!" Nice to see you again." Heidi approached her and gave her a hug. "Where you been hiding?" Freen smiled politely and shook her head. "You know me, I've been around." Heidi smiled but looked at her with a suspicious look. "You seem different. Everything okay?" Saint and Heidi shared a look before turning their attention back to her. "Uh... yeah. Everything is fine." Heidi was a big empath and could easily read people, especially Freen since she usually was very monotone. "Okay. If you ever want to talk, you know where to find me." Freen smiled gratefully as they took a seat. "Can I get you anything?" Freen shook her head. "No, I should really be heading out. I have to take care of some business before I meet the squad later on for a hunt. Are you two joining?" Saint and Heidi smiled at each other but shook their heads. "No, we're on watch duty. Besides you all will have more fun together if your parents don't join." Saint said with a wink. Heidi laughed and watched as Freen inevitably smiled. "Okay Mom and Dad." She said it with a slight cringe at the pet names.
