"To Phuket? What do you mean? We can't just leave. What about my family? Besides we have no clothes with us. You also didn't even consult with me." Becky looked at her with a flustered look and crossed her arms pouting. Freen was still fuming mad but managed to calm down as she looked over at Becky. "I'm sorry but you heard Engfa. We are losing time and we need to go investigate. We can buy clothes there." Becky looked at her in complete disbelief. "Are you crazy? I just started working, I don't have money like that. Take me back to my car, I'll go back and talk to Engfa more in detail and plan things out." Freen felt a pang of jealousy and gripped the wheel harder. "Oh, so you want to go back with Engfa? If you didn't want to be with me, then why did you lead me on?" Becky looked at her in confusion. "What are you saying? I did not say I wanted to be with Engfa. Don't let this rivalry between you two make you jealous. Engfa and I are just friends, besides we can't just impulsively leave the city. I have a family that would be worried about me and I need my clothes. Have you even thought of where we would stay or contacted the Phuket Police Department beforehand to let them know we are coming?" Freen remained quiet as she processed everything Becky was saying. "I'll take you home. You can get your stuff and notify your family. I will take care of the rest."
Becky sighed as she eventually resigned. They sat in silence as Freen drove to Becky's house.Becky stepped out of the car and headed for the door. She looked back at Freen who stood at the driver door looking like a dog with its tail between it's legs. "Well, are you coming in?" Becky asked over her shoulder waiting for Freen to follow her. Freen look up expectantly and hurried up to follow her. She knew Becky was upset at her but was glad that she had invited her in. As they approached the living room a petite older woman that had a similar appearance to Becky appeared. "Becky? Honey why are you home so early?" Becky approached her and gave her a quick hug. "Hey mom, I came to get some things." She looked at her confused but quickly shifted her eyes to the mysterious woman behind Becky. "Oh, you brought company?" She smiled at Freen and looked over at Becky awaiting an introduction. "Mom this is my coworker Freen, Freen this is my mother." Freen approached her and offered her hand. "Nice to meet you ma'am. Freen Chankimha at your service." Mrs. Armstrong smiled and shook her hand. "A pleasure, you can call me Rawee. Are you two hungry? Do you want something to drink?" Becky shook her head. "No mom, I had breakfast. I need to talk to you real quick. Where is dad?" Mrs. Armstrong began walking to the kitchen as she talked.
"He's still out of the country, probably won't be back for a few weeks." Becky sighed in relief as she followed her mom and Freen followed apprehensively behind them. "Okay well the investigation at work has evolved into something more serious and I need to go out of the city for a few days." Mrs. Armstrong stopped pouring the hot water into the mug and looked over at Becky. "Where are you going?" Becky smiled trying to keep her from worrying. "Just down south to Phuket." She looked at her and little hesitant and continued to pour the water into the mug. "Who are you going with?" Becky pointed to Freen. "With Freen. We are going to work with the Phuket police department to solve the case." It was quiet for a moment while Mrs. Armstrong thought for a moment. "Okay but you will need to be in contact with me daily. How do you plan to get there and where will you stay." Becky looked at Freen nervously and began to speak. "Well we haven't..." Freen interrupted her. "Don't worry ma'am I have it all figured out. We will take a flight and be there in an hour and a half. We'll be staying at an airbnb not too far from the police station. I'll make sure she's safe and well taken care of."
Becky stood mouth agape listening to Freen and quickly closed her mouth and nodded when Mrs. Armstrong looked at her for confirmation. "Okay, go get ready and I'll entertain your friend here." She placed the mug of coffee in front of Freen who graciously took it and sipped it. Becky smiled and nodded looking back at them as she made her way upstairs. She hurried upstairs to her room and made her way to the closet. She pulled a luggage bag and began to try and frantically put outfits together for the few days and pack all of her essentials. After a while she heard the door open and looked over at Laila at her door. "Hey, what's up!" She asked as she threw things into the luggage. "You're leaving again?" Becky smiled. "Only for a few days on a work trip." Laila nodded and pursed her lips. "It won't be long." She walked over to her and began to help her push the clothes into the overflowing luggage. "How's things with Sunny." Laila smiled. "Good." Becky nudged her with her elbow and smiled. "You having fun with your new girlfriend?" Laila blushed and shrugged. "That means yes! Congrats! You finally have a girlfriend!" Laila covered Becky's mouth. "Shhhhh. Mom will hear." Becky laughed and put her arm around Laila's shoulder. "I'm happy for you. Make sure you treat her nice." Laila nodded and looked down shyly. "What about you? Are you really going away for work with your girlfriend?" Becky gave her a playful side eye.
