Becky walked into work in a rush and headed to her desk. She was still thinking of Freen and feeling guilty about letting her walk home. Becky took a seat at her desk and turned her computer on. "Good morning! Everything okay?" Engfa asked as she approached Becky with a friendly smile. Becky smiled and nodded. "You seem a little distracted this morning." She pressed on. Becky shook her head and sweetly smiled. "Haha, maybe a bit. It's been a wild night." Engfa smiled and raised her eyebrow. "Uuuuuu....spill the tea sis. Go out with anyone in particular last night?" She teasingly raised her eyebrows and gently poked Becky's arm. Becky blushed and shyly shook her head. "No...well kind of." Engfa laughed and gently encouraged her.
"Alright girl! Who was it? What's his name?" Becky played with the pen in her hand nervously. "It wasn't anything serious, I don't even know if they like me like that. I was just getting some dinner at that diner I was telling you about and this stranger started harassing me." Engfa's smile dropped and her face turned to one of concern. "I decided to leave but he followed me to my car. Luckily this person showed up and helped get rid of them. Then I kind of spent the night at their house and they dropped me off this morning." Engfa's mouth dropped in surprise. "Girl... your a spicy one." Becky's cheeks reddened in embarrassment. "Wait... no. Not like that! They just wanted to protect me." Engfa laughed and teased Becky. "Right... for 'protection'. I hope he did wear 'protection' while 'protecting' you."
Becky became a nervous mess as she stumbled through her excuse. "What?! No nothing like that happened. We just slept together... I mean next to each other... I mean in the same bed." Becky breathed in all flustered as she contemplated the big mess she had just made. Engfa laughed. "Look honey, we've all been there, [wink] there is no need to be embarrassed. Trust me, your secret is safe with me." Becky pinched the bridge of her nose and cringed. "As long as he was respectful and took good care of you then that is all that matters." Becky smiled thinking of Freen. "Oh yeah, she was very respectful." Engfa looked at Becky surprised. "She? Interesting... now I have to know her name!" Smiling Becky hesitantly offered up her name, "Her name is Fr..."
"Hey you two!" They both turned to look at Charlotte who was now staring at them with her arms crossed. "Sorry to interrupt your gossip session but we have a big case to solve. Richie and I are going down to the coroner's office to look at the body. Will you two be joining us or are you too busy giggling?" Becky blushed in embarrassment and looked over at Engfa who pursed her lips and shook her head. Becky could sense some sort of jealously coming from Charlotte towards her and Engfa's interactions. "Oh we were just..." Becky tried to reason but was cut off by Engfa. "Don't worry about her sweetie, she's always grumpy." Engfa flashed a smile at Charlotte who was now sulking. "C'mon you can ride with me." She grabbed Becky's hand and pulled her with her leaving Charlotte throwing daggers with her eyes at them as they walked away. Becky walked uncomfortably next to Engfa as she dragged her along. Richie who was watching the whole scenario from afar laughed as he watched and sipped his coffee. He approached Charlotte and patted her back in a comforting manner. "You have no right to be jealous of someone who's not yours. If you really want her, stop being so prideful and ask her out." Charlotte looked at him with an annoyed expression and huffed as she walked away. Richie shook his head and ran his hand through his hair. "Ah... women are something else."
"Okay so now that we're alone, tell me who you spent the night with." Engfa pressed her excitedly. "Oh, yeah...her name is Freen." Engfa looked surprised and examined Becky. "Freen? As in Chankimha?" Becky nodded and watched as Engfa grew quiet as she was deep in thought. "Why? What's the matter?" Becky asked a little concerned. "Oh... nothing." Becky was not convinced and pressed her further. "Is something wrong with her. Is she dangerous?" Becky became worried as a few different conclusions came to mind. Engfa smiled and shook her head. "No, I don't think so. There's nothing 'wrong' with her... it's just surprising that she let you into her home." Becky looked over confused at Engfa as she continued to drive. "Why is that?" Engfa looked over at her and smiled reassuringly. "I met Freen when I started working here years ago. She stops by here and there to help with some of our more difficult cases. She's very quiet and secluded, keeps mostly to herself and doesn't have any relationships with anyone except with her family. They all live in the woods away from everyone and are rarely seen around town except at night sometimes. They are all rich although they don't work regularly but maybe they are in the world of business. And the thing is no one knows why they would move to such a remote area to be all alone given how young they are and good looking too. Their family is very mysterious and although many people like to speculate about them, they seem to mind their own business and be good people. But who knows right... they could all be in the mafia or something." Engfa laughed as Becky looked at her puzzled.
