Amali POV

Humming, I walked through the corridors behind the scenes to look for the place I wanted to go. But I didn't stay alone for long. I was a little startled when someone took my arm and hooked it under tightly.

"Uncle Pauli! My goodness, don't scare me like that!" I gasped and put my free hand on my rapidly beating heart.

"I thought you heard me. It's not often I manage to sneak up on someone." he laughed.

"I guess I was too deep in thought. How are you?" I asked as we walked on together.

"Excellent, Amali Mae. And I was just about to ask you the same question. How is my little girl? How are things with Roman? I have to tell you... even though it's not your first relationship I've witnessed, I can't say I've ever seen you this happy." he replied.

"Everything between us is just... Yes, it's easy. I understand his world and he understands mine. It's refreshing when you get what I mean. I can't tell you how grateful I am for him," I explained.

"Oh, I know what you mean. And I also know that there was something special between you from the beginning. Even if you guys weren't ready and then all the other things that happened. And so I'm grateful that you found your way.

Have you met his family yet? I bet they'll love you. Especially his mother. When do you want to introduce him to your parents?" he wanted to know.

"Curious as ever, aren't you? No, I've only met his children so far and that went really better than I expected. As for mom and dad, we're going to visit them next week. Roman and I are spending the week at my place. So we thought it was the perfect opportunity.

I'm pretty nervous though. Mom is still hanging on to Terence. I really don't know why she can't get over it... Do you have any idea?" I replied.

"Well Amali... You know your mother. And I bet it's because she knew he was going to propose to you and she was already looking forward to your wedding, at least in her mind. After all, she liked him a lot and you never told her about your worries about him. If I had to bet... I'd also say that she's probably hoping for a bunch of grandchildren. When you broke up it was completely unexpected for Molly.

Maybe she was hoping you'd get back together. Especially after your accident. Even if, as I've heard, you nipped that in the bud. But don't worry so much about the past... Concentrate on the here and now. Roman will take them by storm. Just like you," Uncle Pauli explained to me.

Without realizing it, he stopped in front of Roman's locker room. I hadn't even noticed where he had led me. Had it been his footsteps that had led me here or had it been my own? It didn't really matter. As long as there was only one door separating me from the face I wanted to see.

"I guess you could say that. What do people say... It happens when you least expect it?" I said.

"Damn right. And now enjoy your time." he replied and knocked on the door before walking away.

I could only shake my head and smile. Less than three seconds later, the door opened. A strong, familiar hand grabbed mine. Slowly, it pulled me into the dimly lit room.

"Hi." I said as he gently pushed me against the wall next to the door after he had closed it.

"Hi, baby girl. Did you miss me?" Roman wanted to know, his voice low.

"Oh you bet your sexy ass I did. And now kiss me, lover boy." I replied before simply burying my hand in his shirt so I could pull him towards me.

"Woohoo! Someone has forgotten that he's not alone." we heard a voice tease.

We broke away from each other, albeit reluctantly, and looked over at the visibly amused twins.

"Why are you still here? Can't you see that the tribal chief is busy?" I asked before simply carrying on.

In the meantime, I knew that she would annoy us anyway. But I didn't care. All I wanted was some sugar from my man.

"Busy with getting it..." they snickered.

"That's right. And if you don't want a show, you should leave." Roman replied as his hot gaze pierced my eyes and he simply lifted me up.

My legs wrapped around him as he walked us over to the small sofa.

"Yeah... I think we pass. That's an image I don't need in my head..." Jimmy said before he and his brother left, giving us the privacy we craved.
