Roman POV
While I undid my hair to wet it afterwards, I felt Paul's gaze in my back. The match between Braun and the Fiend had been going on for several minutes, but it was still a little while before it was my turn.
"What's wrong?" I asked quietly as I checked my appearance in the mirror.
"Nothing at all. I just couldn't help but notice the way you were looking at Amali," he said.
"What, I'm not allowed to look at a beautiful woman? Do you expect me to walk around with my eyes blindfolded?" I wanted to know.
"Of course not. It's just that she's like a daughter to me. And so it's only natural that I want to look after her," he replied.
"I understand that and I respect it. But you don't have to worry. I'm not planning to start anything with anyone," I explained.
"We'll see. It certainly wouldn't be the worst thing." Paul mumbled.

Amali POV
I took a deep breath as I looked at my newly won championship. It felt so good. It had happened quicker than I had expected, but I wasn't mad about it.
Unlike many others in the back. I kept hearing their whispering but tried to ignore it as best I could. After all, I knew how good I was. I had worked my ass off to be here.
The camera clicked repeatedly as I began to pose. I knew that today was the start of something big. Only I couldn't yet know how big it would really be, but I could hope.
Suddenly I heard some turmoil. The sound of excited voices came closer. Until he turned the corner. The man of the hour. And damn did the title suit him. I couldn't help but grin as he approached with Uncle Pauli in tow.
"Hey champ! Good job!" I called out to him.
"Thanks, sweetheart. What do you think about a photo to capture this historic moment?" he wanted to know.
"Oh, I think a lot of that," I replied as he positioned himself next to me.
Side by side, we held our championships in front of us. Sometimes with serious looks, then smiling again. Behind the photographer, I spotted Uncle Pauli watching us. He was smiling too and looked very happy.
After a few minutes, it was time to return to the locker room. However, I wasn't alone.
"So you and Paul Heyman, huh? Who would have thought that a few years ago? An unholy union without question," I said.
"Oh, we've been pondering something like this for a while. I'm finally in a position where I can allow myself to take control of the creative part of my character. And Paul is one of the best in the business. It would be stupid not to involve him," Roman replied.
"That's true. And besides, the bad boys have a lot more fun." I smirked.
"Damn straight. It's going to be one hell of a ride." he agreed.
"Uce! Uce! Uce! Oh hi!" we heard a voice say and suddenly and unexpectedly Jey Uso was standing next to us.
His eyes moved quickly back and forth between Roman and me. All Roman did was give him a meaningful look.
"Bye." Jey then said and hurried away while rubbing the back of his neck.
"Well... good night then, Roman. I'll see you next week," I said after clearing my throat.
"Good night, Amali. Maybe we can have a coffee together next week. I'd love to hear more about your journey here." he replied.
"Oh, I think that can be arranged. Maybe even over dinner." I said and winked at him before going into the locker room.
