Roman POV

As we were standing there kissing, I felt Amali's arms slowly wrap around my neck and she pulled me closer to her. Even though that was hardly possible.

My fingers involuntarily dug into her hips. I then heard a small but delicious sigh escape her. She slowly opened her lips. An invitation to deepen the kiss that I was only too happy to accept.

It had been a while since I had kissed another woman. But my goodness, it felt like a whole new experience.

At least until we were interrupted by a loud voice. We were immediately back to reality. Amali took a step back before looking at me with her big eyes.

"I... um... wow... that was... unexpected." she stammered.

"Yeah...I guess...well I'm sorry?" I replied, equally confused as we heard the loud voice and footsteps approaching.

A quick glance to the side showed me that it was Jimmy coming towards us, grinning broadly.

"I, well... I don't think you have to be sorry... I should go. We'll talk later, Roman." she said quietly as she slowly ran her finger over her lips.

"Amali wait!" I replied as she moved further away from me.

"Yo big uce! Look who's back at it! Uh hello! I see the Clash of Champions is already in full swing. And the cameras aren't even rolling yet." Jimmy said as he stood next to us.

"Oh wow. The other infamous Uso! Speaking of which... I should get ready. See you guys around," Amali replied.

"Can't you keep your mouth shut for once. Didn't you see that we were busy?" I asked angrily, glaring at him.

"I saw exactly what you were busy with." he laughed.

Apparently he found the whole thing hilarious because he was doubled over with laughter.

"Yeah, yeah, let it all out. You're acting like a five-year-old." I grumbled and wanted to leave him standing there.

"Come on, Uce! I'm only messing with you. She seems like a great girl. And I knew you weren't serious when you told Jey you weren't interested. What's the deal? What's your next move?" he wanted to know.

"I didn't even have time to talk to her. Thanks to you. And I'm not even sure if there's a next move. We've both just been through a break-up. It's probably not the right time," I replied.

"Bullshit! Who said that? From what I've heard, and I'm not giving away my sources, you clearly have chemistry. And as for the timing... maybe that's exactly what you need. A little fun. No one said it has to be all or nothing.

But! Sometimes things break to make room for something better. What's the saying? If the eggs are already broken, you can still make a delicious omelette out of them," he said.

He had a good point. Several actually. The only problem was that I didn't know if I was ready to throw myself into something new. After all, I wasn't alone. And on top of that, of course, I didn't know if Amali was over her ex. I mean, there had to be a reason why she felt so guilty.

*****

A week later, I was still racking my brain over all these questions. But I was no closer to an answer.

So I decided to take a small step and leave the answer to Amali.

"Hey Amali... Can we talk for a moment?" I asked when I finally found her behind the scenes.

She had just come out of the make-up area and damn, did she look good. My heart immediately started beating a little faster because I was so nervous. That didn't even happen to me before big matches anymore.

"Yeah... sure... What can I help you with?" she wanted to know, nervously playing with her fingers.

"Well... I think we have something to talk about and I thought we could do it over dinner. What do you say, baby girl?" I replied.

"I would love that. But only if you can find a decent Italian restaurant. I have a weakness for Italian things." she said.

"Oh, that's good to know..." I murmured with a smirk.
