Roman POV
I leaned against the door frame with my arms crossed in front of my chest as my eyes followed Amali's every move. A smile permanently on my lips. I couldn't get enough of the sight.
Amali cradled Lilic gently in her arms as she spoke softly to her. It was cute. She was so in love with our daughter, just like everyone else in this family. And I loved every moment I could spend with them.
It fascinated me how much Lilac looked like her mommy. Even though that was slowly starting to change, I hoped that some of her features would stay the same. Especially her eyes and the little dimples.
"Hi, my girls. How are we doing?" I asked as I slowly approached.
I put my arms around them so that the baby was now between us. And it looked like Miss Lilac wanted to stay awake all night. She didn't look the least bit tired.
"We're doing great. And how is the man who made me a mommy?" Amali wanted to know as she looked up at me with a beaming smile.
"Oh, he's fine. Right, sweetie? Daddy loves you so much. What do you think? Should Daddy give Mommy her present now? I think it would be nice because we can have an undisturbed evening." I said and then took my daughter in my arms before pulling Amali closer to me with the free one.
"You know... If you give me your present, you'll get mine too. I've also ordered us something nice to eat. Should be here in an hour. That gives us enough time to get Lilac to sleep." she replied as she reached out for me.
She gave me a few little kisses and then rubbed her nose against mine. God, this woman still drove me as crazy as the first day.
"Sounds perfect for our anniversary, baby girl. That reminds me... I have my suit fitting tomorrow. Do you guys want to come with me? I guarantee I'll look great," I said before giving her another kiss.
Little Lilac cooed in my arms as if she wanted to agree with me. We both laughed. I gave her a kiss on the forehead and Amali stroked her forehead.
"It sounds like she definitely wants to go. Even though it might not be the best idea for me. Seeing you in a tailor-made suit. I'll probably end up with a new baby." my fiancée then laughed.
"Well, it's not my fault you have no self-control, Miss Stryker," I said.
"You are one to talk! If anyone can't control themselves, it's you. You basically jumped me. I had no chance of resisting you the second you kissed me for the first time," she replied.
"Would you have wanted a chance? Mommy talks like she wasn't flirting with Daddy. But it was her who started it every time," I said to the baby.
Amali laughed out loud and took the baby in her arms. She gave her a kiss on the cheek.
"We're definitely not going to settle this argument today, so we'll go and get your present now. Right, Princess? You helped pick it out." she finally replied.
And then she walked out of the room with the baby in her arms. I took the opportunity to get my present. Hopefully she would like it.
It wasn't long before they came back. However, Lilac seemed to have fallen asleep after all. Poor thing, she fought so hard not to miss anything, but then had to realize that she was still a baby who needed her sleep.
Amali carefully placed the little one in the cradle that stood by the window in the living room and then came to me. She had a small box in her hand that was similar in size to mine.
"Happy anniversary, Ro," she said gently as she held it out to me.
"Happy anniversary to you too, baby. Here, this is for you." I replied, gave her my present and then gave her a long kiss.
"Wow, what a beauty!" I said when I saw the stunning watch.
"Turn it over, babe!" whispered Amali before opening hers.
"Amali baby... That's so... thank you! I love it." I exclaimed when I saw my children's names engraved on the back.
"I was hoping you would like it. And I left a little space... just in case." she replied quietly as I pulled her tightly into my arms.
"You're the best, baby girl. But now look at yours, please." I said, touched.
She detached herself from me a little reluctantly and began to open her present. Her fingers were trembling a little. She slowly pushed the lid open and immediately gasped.
"Oh Roman! What have you done?" she breathed.
Inside the small box were beautiful dangling diamond earrings that looked like lots of little flowers.
"Do you like them? I don't know what your wedding dress will look like, but I thought they might go with it anyway," I replied.
"You really are, without a doubt, the best man in the whole wide world. And these are perfect. I love them and I love you! Did you really choose them on your own?" she gushed.
"Yes, why?" I wanted to know.
"Because they'll go perfectly with my dress and I thought Jojo might have helped you," she said as tears of joy welled up in her eyes.
"Really? She didn't. I guess my love for you was the best guide." I laughed and gave her a kiss on the forehead.
"God I can't wait to marry you." she finally replied.
"Ditto, Mrs. almost Reigns. About time for us to have the same surname." I said before wrapping my arms around her and kissing my bride.
I couldn't wait either. But I knew that with a baby and the final preparations, time would fly. Just like time was flying now and the delivery boy was already ringing the doorbell.
