Morning light filtered through the curtains of their grand bedroom, casting soft shadows across the room. Jungkook stirred awake first, his eyes adjusting to the gentle brightness. He blinked slowly, taking in the familiar surroundings of their mansion. The weight of the previous day’s return felt a little less heavy in the early morning calm.

Beside him, Taehyung was still asleep, his face peaceful, lips slightly parted as he nestled deeper into the covers. Jungkook watched him for a moment, a smile tugging at his lips. The sight of Taehyung so relaxed made the weight of work and responsibilities fade just a little more.

Jungkook shifted quietly, trying not to disturb Taehyung as he slid out of bed. He moved toward the large windows, pulling the curtains aside to let more sunlight in. The view of their sprawling garden and the city skyline in the distance greeted him, a perfect blend of tranquility and urban life.

Behind him, Taehyung stirred, his voice soft and sleepy. “Jungkook… what time is it?”

Jungkook turned, catching Taehyung’s half-awake expression. “Early. You can sleep a little longer if you want.”

Taehyung let out a sleepy groan but sat up anyway, stretching his arms above his head. “No point. We have a lot to do today,” he said, though his body still leaned into the warmth of the bed.

Jungkook grinned, walking over to the bed and sitting on the edge beside him. “We do. But we don’t have to rush into it. How’s your back?”

Taehyung’s cheeks flushed lightly as he recalled the night before, the intimate moments they had shared, and the lingering soreness from it. “It’s… fine,” he muttered, embarrassed but trying to brush it off.

Jungkook chuckled, his hand gently grazing Taehyung’s back in comfort. “You don’t have to pretend. I can tell you’re sore,” he teased, his tone playful.

Taehyung’s blush deepened, and he swatted Jungkook’s hand away half-heartedly. “Stop teasing me so early in the morning.”

“Fine, fine,” Jungkook laughed softly before standing up. “I’ll go get breakfast started. You can take your time getting ready.”

Taehyung nodded, watching Jungkook head toward the door. He felt a strange mix of emotions—relieved to be home, yet missing the simplicity of their honeymoon. The mansion, luxurious and grand, sometimes felt too big for just the two of them. Yet with Jungkook around, it always felt warm and lived-in.

After getting dressed and freshening up, Taehyung made his way downstairs to the kitchen where Jungkook was already busy preparing breakfast. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and sizzling eggs filled the air, and Taehyung couldn’t help but smile.

“You really didn’t have to do all this,” Taehyung said, leaning against the counter and watching Jungkook move around with ease.

“I wanted to,” Jungkook replied with a grin. “Besides, it’s not every day we get to enjoy a slow morning like this. I figured we should make the most of it before things get hectic again.”

Taehyung nodded in agreement. “You’re right. It’s nice to just… be.”

Once breakfast was ready, they sat together at the large dining table, enjoying the peaceful morning. The sunlight streamed in through the tall windows, casting a golden hue over the room. Despite the mansion’s size, moments like these made it feel intimate.

After they finished eating, Taehyung leaned back in his chair, staring out at the garden. “I guess we should start unpacking and going through everything we need to catch up on.”

Jungkook stretched, rolling his shoulders back. “Yeah, we should. But let’s not stress about it. One thing at a time.”

They made their way back upstairs, where their suitcases were still sitting by the entrance to their walk-in closet. Jungkook began unpacking their clothes while Taehyung tackled the gifts and souvenirs they had brought back from their honeymoon.

As they unpacked, the reality of being home settled in. The honeymoon had been a blissful escape, but now it was time to return to work, meetings, and the responsibilities that came with managing their family businesses.

Taehyung paused, holding a small trinket they had picked up on their trip. “Do you ever wish we could just… live simply? Away from all of this?” he asked quietly, his eyes focused on the item in his hand.

Jungkook looked up, considering the question. “Sometimes, yeah. But I think we’ve learned that it’s not where we are that matters—it’s who we’re with. As long as we’re together, we can make anywhere feel like home.”

Taehyung smiled, feeling reassured by Jungkook’s words. “You’re right. And no matter how hectic things get, I’m glad we have each other.”

Jungkook walked over to Taehyung, pulling him into a gentle embrace. “We’ll always have each other. No matter what.”

They stood there for a moment, holding each other, the weight of their responsibilities seeming lighter with the comfort of knowing they would face everything together.

As the day wore on, they gradually settled back into their routine. But even as the mansion echoed with the usual buzz of work and life, the closeness they had found during their honeymoon lingered, reminding them of the deeper connection they now shared.

Their life together was far from ordinary, but in each other’s arms, it felt just right.
