Taehyung woke up to the soft glow of sunlight streaming through the curtains, casting a warm, golden hue over the room. His body felt unusually comfortable, and it took him a moment to realize why—Jungkook’s arms were still wrapped around him, holding him close.

His heart skipped a beat at the realization, and memories of the previous night came rushing back. The teasing, the lingering touches, Jungkook’s kiss on the back of his neck—it all felt like a dream. But now, in the morning light, it was clear that it had been anything but.

Taehyung’s cheeks warmed as he became aware of how intimately they were lying together, Jungkook’s chest pressed against his back, their legs slightly tangled under the sheets. For a moment, he thought about shifting away, but the warmth and comfort of Jungkook’s embrace made him hesitate. It was oddly soothing, even though his heart was pounding.

He turned his head slightly to glance at Jungkook, wondering if the other was still asleep. But as soon as he moved, he felt Jungkook stir behind him. Taehyung’s breath hitched as Jungkook shifted, his arms tightening around Taehyung’s waist for a brief moment before loosening, and then Jungkook’s sleepy voice broke the silence.

“Morning,” Jungkook mumbled, his voice deep and groggy, still laced with sleep. His breath tickled the back of Taehyung’s neck, sending a shiver down his spine.

Taehyung swallowed hard, his heart racing even faster. “M-Morning,” he replied quietly, his voice barely above a whisper.

For a moment, neither of them moved, and the room was filled with nothing but the soft sounds of their breathing and the distant crashing of waves outside. It was peaceful, but there was an undeniable tension in the air, a heaviness that neither of them could ignore.

Jungkook shifted again, this time propping himself up on one elbow so he could look down at Taehyung. His dark eyes were still soft with sleep, but there was a glint of something else in them—something that made Taehyung’s heart skip a beat.

“You slept well,” Jungkook said, his voice a little more awake now, though still teasing. “Looks like I was right. My presence helped you relax after all.”

Taehyung bit his lip, trying to ignore the way his cheeks were burning. “It wasn’t... It wasn’t because of you,” he muttered, though even he didn’t sound convincing.

Jungkook chuckled softly, leaning down just a little closer. “Oh? You think you’d have slept this well without me holding you all night?” His voice was low, teasing but with a hint of something deeper.

Taehyung’s face grew even warmer, and he tried to roll over to escape Jungkook’s gaze, but Jungkook’s arm kept him in place. He was trapped, forced to face the teasing smile tugging at the corner of Jungkook’s lips.

“I... I don’t know,” Taehyung mumbled, his voice barely audible. His heart was racing, and he could feel the heat spreading to the tips of his ears. The way Jungkook was looking at him made it impossible to think straight.

Jungkook’s smile widened, clearly enjoying how flustered Taehyung was. He leaned in even closer, his breath warm against Taehyung’s skin. “You’re cute when you’re embarrassed, you know that?”

Taehyung’s eyes widened, and he quickly turned his head away, his heart practically leaping out of his chest. “S-Stop teasing me,” he muttered, but his voice was weak, lacking any real bite.

Jungkook just laughed softly, his hand coming up to gently brush a strand of hair away from Taehyung’s face. “But it’s so easy, Tae,” he murmured, his voice soft now, almost affectionate.

Taehyung’s breath hitched, and for a moment, he forgot how to respond. The tenderness in Jungkook’s voice, the way his fingers lingered against Taehyung’s skin—it was too much. His mind was spinning, caught between the teasing and the sincerity that seemed to slip through Jungkook’s playful facade.

“I... I don’t...” Taehyung stammered, his words trailing off as Jungkook’s gaze held his. There was something different in Jungkook’s eyes this morning—something that made Taehyung’s heart flutter in a way he hadn’t expected.

For a long moment, neither of them said anything, the air between them thick with unspoken words. Taehyung’s mind was racing, but before he could even begin to untangle his thoughts, Jungkook leaned in, his lips brushing softly against Taehyung’s forehead.

It was a brief, gentle kiss, but it sent a wave of warmth through Taehyung’s entire body. His breath caught, and for a moment, all he could do was stare up at Jungkook, his heart pounding in his chest.

Jungkook pulled back slightly, his eyes searching Taehyung’s face as if waiting for a reaction. “I meant it, you know,” he said quietly, his voice soft but sincere. “You’re different, Tae. In a good way.”

Taehyung’s breath hitched again, and he felt his heart swell with something he couldn’t quite name. His mind was a whirlwind of emotions, but there was one thing he knew for sure—this was more than just teasing now. There was something real between them, something that had been building for a while but was only now starting to come to the surface.

“I... I don’t know what to say,” Taehyung whispered, his voice barely audible.

Jungkook smiled softly, his hand still resting gently on Taehyung’s cheek. “You don’t have to say anything,” he murmured. “Just... stay here with me.”

Taehyung’s heart fluttered at the words, and for the first time in a long while, he felt a sense of calm wash over him. He didn’t know where this was going, didn’t know what the future held for them, but in this moment, being here with Jungkook felt right.

So, instead of responding with words, Taehyung simply nodded, his eyes soft as he looked up at Jungkook. And for the first time since this whole strange marriage arrangement had begun, he felt like maybe, just maybe, this wasn’t such a bad thing after all.
