The weeks following the gala had given Jungkook and Taehyung a new sense of peace. They had worked through their insecurities, reaffirming their commitment to each other. It felt as though their relationship had reached a new level of understanding, but another conversation had been stirring between them—one that neither had yet voice out.It happened one quiet morning over breakfast. The mansion quiet, and they were enjoying their coffee at the large dining table when Taehyung, his voice soft, broke the comfortable silence.
“Jungkook,” he began, setting his mug down, “do you ever think about having… a family?”
Jungkook looked up from the newspaper he had been reading, meeting Taehyung’s eyes. His expression full of curiosity. “A family?”
Taehyung nodded, a slight nervousness in his voice. “I mean… children. An heir, for us, for the business. But not just because of the company. I’ve always wanted a child, someone to share our life with. Have you?”
Jungkook blinked, taken aback by the suddenness of the question, but the idea wasn’t foreign to him. In fact, he had thought about it often, though he hadn’t brought it up. “I’ve thought about it, Tae. I’ve always wanted kids too, but I didn’t know how you felt about it.”
Taehyung smiled softly, his eyes shining with hope. “I want that. I want us to have a family.”
Jungkook leaned back in his chair, his mind already spinning with the possibilities. “Do you mean… adopt?”
Taehyung nodded again. “Yes. I think it’s time. We’ve built so much together, but something still feels incomplete. I feel like we’re meant to have a child, Jungkook. To give someone a home, love, and everything we can offer.”
Jungkook’s heart swelled at the thought. He could see it—Taehyung holding a baby, their home filled with the laughter of a child. It was a future he hadn’t dared to voice aloud, but now that it was here, it felt natural to take the next step.
“I want that too,” Jungkook said after a moment, his voice full of emotion. “I want a family with you, Tae.”
Taehyung’s smile grew, relief and happiness flooding him. “Really?”
Jungkook reached across the table, taking Taehyung’s hand. “Yes. I’ve always wanted it, but I was waiting for you to bring it up. I didn’t want to rush things.”
Taehyung laughed softly, squeezing Jungkook’s hand. “I guess we were both waiting for the right moment. But there’s no reason to wait anymore, is there?”
Jungkook shook his head, his gaze locked on Taehyung’s. “No, there isn’t.”

That same afternoon, they started making plans. They discussed adoption agencies, what kind of home environment they wanted to create for their future child, and how they would balance their responsibilities as parents and business partners. It was exciting, but also daunting.
“I can’t believe we’re actually doing this,” Taehyung said later that evening, as they sat together on the couch, wrapped up in a conversation about the future.
Jungkook smiled, resting his head on Taehyung’s shoulder. “It feels right. We’ve built everything else together, Tae. This is the next step.”
Taehyung nodded, resting his head against Jungkook’s. “Yeah, it is. I just hope we’re ready.”
Jungkook chuckled softly. “We’ve handled everything else, haven’t we? We’ll figure this out too. Together.”
Taehyung’s heart swelled with love and pride. Jungkook’s confidence was reassuring, and it gave him the strength to push away any lingering doubts. They were going to be parents, and despite the challenges, Taehyung knew they would give their child the world.

The process of adoption was slower than either of them anticipated. They had to navigate a sea of paperwork, interviews, and home visits to ensure they were qualified as potential parents. It was a long and at times exhausting process, but through it all, Jungkook and Taehyung leaned on each other for support.
During one of their meetings with the agency, they were asked what kind of child they were hoping to adopt.
“We don’t have a preference,” Taehyung said, his voice filled with sincerity. “We just want to give a child a home and love them.”
Jungkook nodded in agreement. “We’re open to any child, no matter their age or background. What’s most important to us is that they feel safe and loved.”
The agency representative smiled, clearly moved by their answer. “That’s a beautiful sentiment. We’ll do everything we can to find a child that’s a good fit for your family.”
As they left the meeting that day, Jungkook and Taehyung both felt a sense of hope and excitement. The thought of finally bringing a child into their home made their hearts race with anticipation. They knew it wouldn’t be easy, but they were more than ready to take on this new chapter of their lives.

Several months later, they received the call they had been waiting for. A baby boy, just a few months old, had become available for adoption. His story was heart-wrenching—his birth parents were unable to care for him, and he had been placed in foster care shortly after birth. But now, the agency believed he would thrive with Jungkook and Taehyung.
“We’d love to meet him,” Taehyung said eagerly, his voice trembling with excitement.
The agency arranged a visit, and a week later, Jungkook and Taehyung found themselves at the foster home, waiting nervously to meet the child who might become their son.
When the foster mother brought the baby out, both men were silent for a moment, overwhelmed by the sight of the tiny boy in her arms. He had big, dark eyes and soft black hair, and he looked up at them with curiosity.
“He’s perfect,” Jungkook whispered, his voice thick with emotion.
Taehyung’s heart melted as he reached out to hold the baby. The moment the child was in his arms, Taehyung felt a sense of peace and rightness wash over him. This was it. This was their family.
Jungkook stood beside him, gently stroking the baby’s head, his own emotions barely contained. “He’s ours, Tae.”
Taehyung nodded, tears welling in his eyes. “Yeah. He’s ours.”
---
As they drove home that day, their son sleeping peacefully in the back seat, Jungkook and Taehyung exchanged glances, both filled with the same overwhelming sense of love and gratitude.
“We did it,” Taehyung whispered, his voice thick with emotion.
Jungkook smiled, reaching over to take his hand. “We’re a family now.”
And as they pulled up to their mansion, their home now felt complete in a way it never had before. They have each other, they have their love, and now, they have their son.
