The soft light of morning streamed through the curtains, casting a gentle glow over the room. Taehyung stirred, feeling the warmth of the bed and the weight of Jungkook’s arm draped protectively over him. His eyes fluttered open, and for a moment, he simply lay there, enjoying the peacefulness of the morning.

It had been a long night, full of emotional ups and downs, but waking up in Jungkook’s arms made everything feel better. Taehyung shifted slightly, careful not to wake Jungkook, but the slight movement was enough to rouse him.

Jungkook stirred behind him, his arm tightening around Taehyung’s waist as he nuzzled closer. “Morning,” he mumbled, his voice still thick with sleep.

Taehyung smiled, turning to face him. “Morning.”

For a few moments, they lay there in silence, simply enjoying each other’s presence. Taehyung felt a sense of contentment he hadn’t felt in a while, a sense of rightness in the world that only came from being with Jungkook.

Jungkook’s eyes fluttered open, and he smiled lazily at Taehyung. “How are you feeling?”

“Better,” Taehyung admitted. “A lot better.”

Jungkook’s smile widened, and he leaned in to press a soft kiss to Taehyung’s lips. “Good. I hate seeing you stressed.”

Taehyung blushed slightly, remembering the events of the previous night. “I’m sorry for worrying you.”

“Don’t apologize,” Jungkook said softly, running his fingers through Taehyung’s hair. “I just want you to be happy, Tae.”

Taehyung’s heart fluttered at Jungkook’s words. He felt so safe in his arms, so loved. “I am happy. Especially when I’m with you.”

Jungkook chuckled, his eyes sparkling with affection. “Well, that’s good to hear.”

They lay there for a while longer, wrapped in each other’s warmth, before Jungkook’s phone buzzed on the nightstand. He groaned, reaching over to check the message. His brow furrowed slightly as he read it, and Taehyung’s curiosity piqued.

“What is it?” Taehyung asked, propping himself up on one elbow.

Jungkook sighed, putting the phone down. “It’s from my mom. Apparently, there’s another business dinner we have to attend this week.”

Taehyung groaned softly. “Another one? Didn’t we just go to one?”

“Yeah,” Jungkook said, rubbing his temples. “But this one’s important. It’s with some overseas investors, and both of our families are going to be there.”

Taehyung bit his lip, feeling a slight sense of dread. While the business dinners were important for their families, they were also exhausting. Not to mention the constant pressure to act the part of the perfect couple in front of everyone.

But then again, Taehyung had become used to it. They were married now, bound by their families’ legacy, and attending these events was part of that. He just wished he could have more quiet mornings like this one, where it was just the two of them.

“We’ll get through it,” Jungkook said, sensing Taehyung’s unease. “And then we can come back here and spend some time alone.”

Taehyung smiled, feeling reassured. “You always know what to say.”

Jungkook grinned, leaning in to steal another kiss. “That’s because I know you so well.”

Later that morning, as they were getting dressed and preparing for the day ahead, Taehyung couldn’t help but think about how far they had come. When their marriage had first been arranged, he had never imagined that he would fall in love with Jungkook. In fact, the idea had seemed impossible.

But now, as he watched Jungkook button up his shirt, his heart swelled with affection. Jungkook had become more than just his husband—he was his partner, his best friend, the person who made him feel complete.

And while their journey hadn’t been easy, Taehyung knew that they were stronger because of it. They had faced the challenges, and come out on the other side together.

As Jungkook turned to him with a playful grin, Taehyung realized that, no matter what the future held, they would be okay. They had each other, and that was enough.

“Ready?” Jungkook asked, offering his hand.

Taehyung smiled, taking his hand without hesitation. “Ready.”

As they left their room and walked out into the world, Taehyung felt a sense of peace wash over him. The future was uncertain, but as long as they faced it together, he knew they could handle anything.
