The following week came quickly, and the day of the business dinner arrived sooner than expected. Taehyung found himself standing in front of the mirror, adjusting his suit and trying to calm the butterflies in his stomach. He glanced over at Jungkook, who was sitting on the bed, casually scrolling through his phone. Unlike Taehyung, Jungkook always seemed calm and composed before these events. He had grown up with them, after all—business was second nature to him.
“You look great,” Jungkook said, glancing up and offering Taehyung a warm smile.
Taehyung blushed slightly, still feeling a bit self-conscious in his formal attire. “Thanks.”
Jungkook stood up and walked over to him, placing his hands on Taehyung’s shoulders. “Seriously, you look amazing. You always do.”
Taehyung chuckled, feeling the heat rise to his cheeks. “You’re just saying that.”
“I’m not,” Jungkook insisted, his eyes sparkling with sincerity. “You’re beautiful, Tae. And you’re going to knock everyone out tonight.”
Taehyung’s heart skipped a beat at Jungkook’s words. Even after all this time, Jungkook still had the ability to make him feel special, to make him feel like he was the only person in the world that mattered.
“I’m glad you’ll be there with me,” Taehyung said softly, meeting Jungkook’s gaze.
“Always,” Jungkook replied, leaning in to press a soft kiss to Taehyung’s forehead. “I’ll always be by your side.”

The drive to the business dinner was quiet, with Taehyung lost in thought and Jungkook focused on navigating the traffic. As they pulled up to the grand venue, Taehyung took a deep breath, mentally preparing himself for the evening ahead.
He could already see the luxury cars parked out front and the elegantly dressed guests milling about inside. It was the kind of event where appearances mattered, where every interaction was calculated, and every move was watched.
But Taehyung wasn’t alone. He had Jungkook, and that was enough to give him the confidence he needed.
As they walked into the venue together, hand in hand, Taehyung felt the familiar rush of nerves. But when he glanced over at Jungkook, who gave him a reassuring smile, the tension melted away.
They could handle anything, as long as they were together.
