The atmosphere in the house was shifting, becoming more charged with every passing moment. Despite the earlier tension between the boys, the party resumed in full swing. Music blared from the speakers, and the low hum of conversations mixed with laughter. Drinks flowed easily, and the living room was filled with bodies moving around, dancing, chatting, and occasionally stealing glances at one another.
The girls, still riding the high from the club, were in their element. Morgan was by the kitchen counter, laughing at something Hongjoong said as he handed her another drink. Justice was nestled in one of the chairs, casually listening to Wooyoung and Julissa chat while keeping an eye on Yoongi, who was quietly lingering by the edge of the room. Lola, always the life of the party, was dancing with Mingi in the middle of the living room, her energy infectious as she spun around, letting herself get lost in the music.
Meanwhile, the boys weren't as relaxed.

Namjoon tried to keep his cool, but his eyes kept drifting toward Morgan and Hongjoong. Hongjoong had been hanging around Morgan all night, and it was starting to get under his skin. He'd always prided himself on staying calm and collected, but something about seeing her so at ease with another guy was throwing him off. The way she smiled, her laugh—everything about her was magnetic, and the thought of someone else getting too close to her made his jaw tighten.
"Hyung, you're glaring," Jungkook teased, nudging Namjoon with his elbow. The maknae had been watching the whole situation unfold with a smirk on his face.
"Am not," Namjoon muttered, but his eyes didn't leave Morgan.
Jungkook just laughed. "You're too obvious, man. If you don't make a move soon, someone else will."
Namjoon shot him a look, but didn't say anything. Jungkook might be right.
On the other side of the room, Yoongi was having his own internal struggle. Justice was sitting only a few feet away, looking relaxed, but every time Wooyoung leaned in to say something to her, Yoongi felt his chest tighten with irritation. It wasn't like him to get worked up over things like this—he preferred to observe, to let things happen naturally. But something about the way Wooyoung kept laughing with Justice, how she seemed comfortable in his presence, was making him restless. He glanced at the drink in his hand, wondering if it would calm him down, but he knew that wasn't the problem.
Hoseok, meanwhile, was trying to stay upbeat, but even his usual sunny disposition was dimming with frustration. Lola was dancing with Mingi, and although she seemed like she was having fun, Hoseok couldn't help but feel a little... replaced. Lola's energy always drew people in, and Mingi wasn't shy about enjoying her attention. Every time she smiled or threw her head back in laughter, Hoseok felt a pang of something he wasn't quite ready to admit.
"Are you okay?" Seokjin asked, noticing the way Hoseok kept glancing toward Lola.
"I'm fine," Hoseok replied quickly, but his eyes betrayed him, tracking Lola's every move.
Seokjin sighed. He wasn't doing much better himself. Julissa had been caught up in conversation with San for most of the night, and though it wasn't like they were overly close, Seokjin felt his patience wearing thin. He was usually laid-back, happy to go with the flow, but seeing her so engaged in conversation with San—who clearly found her interesting—was making it hard to stay calm.

As the night went on, the tension between the boys became more palpable. The maknae line, however, was watching all of this unfold with thinly veiled amusement.
