The evening air was cool but not unpleasant as Seokjin and Julissa walked along the cobblestone streets of the coastal village. The sunset had already painted the sky with strokes of pink and orange, casting a romantic glow over everything. Julissa had dressed to impress, wearing a sleek, off-shoulder black dress that hugged her figure in all the right places. Her hair was perfectly styled, cascading down her back in soft waves. She looked stunning, and Seokjin couldn't take his eyes off her.
Seokjin, on the other hand, was dressed in a casual yet polished white button-up shirt and navy slacks, exuding that effortless charm he was known for. His eyes crinkled at the corners whenever he smiled, and his easygoing demeanor helped keep the mood light as they explored the quaint little shops and cafes by the water.
"This place is beautiful," Julissa said, her voice soft as she took in the scenery. "I've never been anywhere like this."
Seokjin chuckled, glancing at her with a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Well, stick with me, and I'll show you all the hidden gems Jeju has to offer."
Julissa smiled, feeling her heart flutter at his words. Despite the tension simmering beneath the surface, Seokjin had a way of making her feel at ease. But that tension—the kind neither of them could ignore—was bound to surface eventually. Especially with everything that had happened recently.
They stopped at a small, charming outdoor café, deciding to sit down for some iced coffee and light conversation. The ambiance was cozy, with soft music playing in the background, and lanterns hanging from the trees, casting a warm glow over the table.
As they sat, sipping their drinks and talking about trivial things, Julissa felt the weight of unspoken questions pressing on her. She had been thinking about it ever since their encounter with BLACKPINK and the tension that lingered between them. And she knew there was more to the story than what had been shared.
Taking a deep breath, she decided to address the elephant in the room.
"So," she began, carefully, "Today at the beach... we met BLACKPINK..."
Seokjin immediately stiffened. His smile faltered for just a second, but he quickly recovered, nodding slowly. "Yeah... what about it?"
Julissa studied his face, watching for any hint of hesitation. "I couldn't help but notice there was some... tension. They mentioned they saw us at the fair."
Seokjin's eyes flickered with something she couldn't quite place—maybe regret, maybe frustration—but he masked it quickly with a shrug. "It's complicated," he said, his tone too casual to be convincing.
Julissa raised an eyebrow, her curiosity piqued. "Complicated how?"
Seokjin leaned back in his chair, staring down at his drink as if it could provide him with the right words to say. He let out a small sigh before looking up at her, a forced smile on his lips. "We used to date. Jisoo and I."
Julissa felt a strange tightness in her chest at the confirmation. She had guessed as much, but hearing it from him directly felt different. She tried to keep her expression neutral, nodding for him to continue.
"It was a long time ago," Seokjin added quickly. "Before things got really serious with our careers."
Julissa took a sip of her drink, trying to keep her voice steady. "So what happened? Why did you break up?"
Seokjin hesitated, the question clearly making him uncomfortable. He shifted in his seat, his gaze wandering away from her as he thought of how to answer. "We... weren't on the same page anymore," he said finally, his voice quieter now. "We both got busy with our work, and the relationship just... fell apart."
