Tae sat in the garden, lost in thought, unaware of how long he had been there. At some point, without realizing it, he stood up and started walking. His mind kept circling back to the same thought—If I leave, maybe Chen will notice. Maybe he’ll think about me, maybe he’ll look for me, or even call me. But none of that happened. Tae kept walking, farther and farther away from the office building, his hope slowly fading with each step. He found himself far from where he started, yet the ache in his heart remained just as strong.Tae eventually stopped walking and sat down on a bench somewhere unfamiliar. He didn’t know why he sat there or what he was even doing. The entire day passed as he sat in silence, lost in his thoughts. Evening fell, and the world around him kept moving. People passed by, some glancing at him, but no one stopped. No one asked if he was okay. Tae felt invisible, like no one cared if he was sitting there, broken and alone.
He thought to himself, No one cares about me. They’re probably judging me because of how I look, maybe even hating me because of my Rank . The weight of his isolation pressed down harder, making him feel smaller with every passing moment.
Even as the evening descended, Tae remained lost in his own thoughts, unaware of the time passing. He hadn’t eaten or drunk anything the entire day. Suddenly, Tae felt something vibrate in his pocket. At first, he ignored it, too absorbed in his emotions. But when it happened again, he pulled out his phone, still not bothering to look at the number.
He put the phone to his ear, and a voice came through.
As Tae put the phone to his ear, a stern voice came through, “Kim Taehyung? You are late.”
The words jolted Tae back to reality. He blinked, the fog in his mind slowly clearing as he realized what was happening. He had completely lost track of time, and now the lil Alpha was waiting for him. A sense of panic began to rise in his chest, but all he could do was sit there, frozen, still processing the situation.

Even though Tae didn’t feel like moving, he forced himself to get up, booked a cab, and somehow made his way to the Head Alpha’s mansion. When he arrived, the butler greeted him at the door. “Kim Taehyung , you’re late,” the butler said sternly.Tae didn’t respond. Instead, he lowered his head, his gaze fixed on the ground, unable to meet the butler’s eyes. The butler sighed, then said, “Okay, Kim Taehyung. Go take a shower and change into the uniform. Quickly.”
Without saying a word, Tae nodded and walked inside, feeling the weight of exhaustion and his own thoughts pressing down on him even harder.
Tae stepped into the shower, hoping that the warm water would relax his body, wash away the tension. Physically, he did feel a bit of relief as the water cascaded over him. But no matter how much he tried to focus on the soothing sensation, his emotions remained heavy, unchanged. The weight of everything—his heartbreak, his confusion, his longing for Chen—still clung to him like a second skin.
The shower may have relaxed his body, but his heart and mind were still tangled in turmoil.
Tae stepped out of the shower, feeling only slightly better, and made his way to Jungkook’s room. He knocked on the door, and from inside, a voice called, “Come in.”
As Tae entered, he immediately noticed Jungkook's irritated expression. Jungkook’s sharp eyes locked onto him, clearly displeased. “Why are you late today?” Jungkook asked, his tone firm and unforgiving.
Tae lowered his gaze again, feeling the weight of both the question and Jungkook’s frustration. He didn’t have an answer that would satisfy him, so he remained silent, his emotions still in turmoil.
