As the rain began to turn into cold air, the beautiful tree started shedding its leaves, and summer slowly transitioned into autumn, then winter. Time moved so quickly, unnoticed. All those months had been crucial. Jungkook had learned so much from both Donghae and Mark. Though Jungkook wasn’t exactly close with Mark, he recognized Mark’s capabilities. Mark was more experienced than Jungkook had expected, and at times, it shocked him. It was during those moments that Jungkook began to understand Donghae’s teachings more clearly. Seven months had already passed.

Sometimes, Jungkook stays at the training center late because of his training with Mark. When he finally returns to the mansion, it’s usually after midnight, sometimes as late as 3 a.m. By then, Taehyung is already asleep. Jungkook wakes up at 8 a.m. to have breakfast but doesn’t have time to properly talk to Taehyung. He’s busy with his studies and training, leaving little room for any meaningful interaction. He hasn’t really had the chance to reconnect with Taehyung, and Taehyung feels the cruelty of the distance growing between them again

Jungkook didn’t talk much with Taehyung, even when he had the time. He continued to distance himself from Taehyung, not wanting to engage. Whenever he did try, his alpha instincts would resurface, whispering to him to push Taehyung away, to distance himself, to even  kill him  So, Jungkook kept to himself. He didn’t want to talk to Taehyung anymore, even if he felt the urge. He convinced himself that he didn’t need to, and that it was better that way detaching, pushing down the emotions, refusing to let himself get close again .

Even though Jungkook kept his distance, he was fully aware of what Taehyung was doing, of all his actions. He knew when Taehyung needed something, even without being asked. Despite his own inner turmoil and the emotional barrier he built, Jungkook still helped and fulfilled Taehyung's needs whether it was something practical or even the smallest gestures. He did it quietly, without words, because even though he couldn’t bring himself to talk, he still cared in his own way.

Mark and Jungkook were thrust into numerous dangerous missions over the course in those  seven months. Many of the situations they faced tested their endurance, strength, and trust in each other. And despite the ongoing tension between them, they had to rely on one another.

On several occasions, Mark would rush into danger, stepping in front of Jungkook to take the brunt of the attacks. He would shield Jungkook from harm, absorbing the hits, and sometimes even going as far as to shield him from entire battles. Jungkook, ever the tactician, would yell at him in frustration.

"Are you crazy?" Jungkook would snap, fury in his eyes as he saw Mark take the full force of an attack.

"You know I have a fucking healing power! You don’t have to sacrifice yourself for me!"

Jungkook’s anger would boil over, but even as his frustration burned, his hands were already moving toward Mark’s wounds, healing him with his power. He couldn’t leave him like this, no matter how reckless Mark’s actions were. The tension would always hang in the air, but there was something deeper in those moments a quiet understanding between them.

"You’re such an idiot," Jungkook would mutter under his breath, his voice laced with both annoyance and hidden care, as he focused on mending the injuries Mark had taken.

Mark would let out a laugh, even as Jungkook healed him. "I told you, I’m fine. You don’t have to act like my mom."

Jungkook would just roll his eyes, but the flicker of a smile that tugged at his lips was impossible to hide. Though he never admitted it, part of him was grateful for Mark’s willingness to put himself on the line for him. Even if he would never openly say it.
