THE last couples of days are a complete blur. with the amount of studying and training i've been doing, time seems to flow without me even noticing.

bakugou has been pushing me to my limits of not only hand-to-hand combat training, but also with how long i'm able to use my beam of light move. i've been doing the same with him, helping him reach an absolute maximum output with his gauntlets while making the width of the blast become smaller and more precise.

today, bakugou reluctantly gave me the day off to study my english which i am god awful at.

i tie my hair back into a low bun at the base of my neck as i sit down at the dining table to work on said english, when my phone buzzes.

eiji
hey ko!
how is the studying
coming along?

ko
hey eiji!!

i was just about to start on
some english actually!

how is it coming along
on your end? i bet
you're crushing it!

eiji
well i wish i was :,)

i'm struggling real
hard with maths..

is there any chance
i could stop by and you
could help me out?

i can help with english
in exchange?

ko
of course i can help eiji!

i feel like i haven't
seen you in a while
so this would be great!

futo has also been
asking me when you're
coming over next.

eiji
i'm on my way then!

tell futo that i'll play some
games with him after
we study.

ko
i'll let him know now!

i push the chair backwards and make my way to our shared bedroom. when i slowly push the door open, i find my twin brother laying on his stomach facing away from me and his laptop opened.

"hey futo?" i quietly ask as i make my way to stand next to him. he doesn't move his eyes away from the screen as i sneak a little peak of a girl holding a sleeping orange cat in her arms. looking back at my twin, i see a tear roll down his cheek followed by a sniffle.

"futo?" the boy jolts towards the wall and slams his laptop shut in the process. i back up with my hands in the air and my eyes wide.

"have you never heard of knocking before? when in the hell did you get there?" i watch as my brother holds a hand to his chest, bunching up the dark gray shirt in the palm of his hand.

"i'm sorry futo but i did call your name a couple of times. not to mention we do share this room," a small laugh escapes my mouth as futoshi begins to relax into a comfortable sitting position on his black comforter.

"what do you want sis," he mumbles as he crosses his arms across his chest.

"i just wanted to tell you that eiji is on his way over right now. we're going to study for a bit out in the living room and then he wanted me to tell you that he'll play some games with you when we're done." a subtle smile turns up the corner of my usually frowning brother which brings a smile to my face as well.

i remember before the both of us got our quirks, we were both smiling together when junko would agree to play heroes with us in the park. or when mom and dad would help us set up pillow forts in the living room and watch our favorite movies until we fell asleep.

but after that night the cuffs were placed on my wrists and my memories have been nothing but a blur other than laying in a crater in the middle of the streets.

after losing our parents.

futoshi has always had his walls up, always been on guard and way more protective of me. we rarely ever get to see him smile anymore, so i have made it my mission that i will always do my best to make him smile.

"let me know when you guys are studying so i can beat his ass," the smile fades into a playful smirk as he rubs his hands together.

"will do," i turn away from my twin and begin to head towards the door after feeling a buzzing in my sweatpants pocket, assuming that it's eiji letting me know that he's here.

"and ko," futoshi calls to me before i head into the hallway. "if you tell anyone about what i was watching, i will murder you in your sleep."

i give him a curt nod and softly close the door behind me and leaving him to watch the show he's been trying to hide his love for, for the last two years.

quickly, i shuffle my way to the door and swing it open to find a smiling eijiro. his smile is contagious and i can't help but a big smile curve my lips upwards.

his normally spiky hair is flat against his head with one hand holding onto the strap of his backpack while the other is tucked away into his black pant pocket. the small yellow smiley face in the center of a light grey t-shirt. a christmas present that i got him a couple years ago.

"i just want to apologize in advance for my lack of math knowledge. jirou tried to help me study over the weekend but she got frustrated with denki and i, then proceeded to kick us out of her house." his smile slightly falters as he brings his hand that was in his pocket to scratch the back of his head. something i've noticed he does when he's embarrassed about something.

thankfully, he takes a step inside the apartment and closes the door behind him, shutting out the chill autumn breeze that was beginning to make even myself cold.

"don't worry eiji i won't kick you out. besides, i was pretty awful with it too until bakugou told me what lessons to look at." as i turn away from eiji who's beginning to slide on his house slippers, i notice his eyebrows twitch downwards but brush it off as nothing.

"he sure is a smart cookie isn't he," his voice drifts off towards the end of his statement as i begin grabbing some of our favorite snacks from the cupboards in the kitchen.

the shuffling of eiji's feet against the wood floor passes me and the thud of his backpack hitting the floor in the dining room echoes. with full arms, i slowly make my way to the table where i find eijiro pulling our sheets of paper and a calculator from his bag.

"i got hot fries, match pocky, hello pandas, some sushi i made the other night, and some shrimp chips futo fought some middle schooler over last night." both of our laughs bounce against the walls at the last part.

"that sounds like something he would do," eiji says with a chuckle following the words. i sit next to eiji as i pull together my own math notes that i completed in preparation for the exam, which is in two days.

i begin to explain how to use the quadratic formula to the red headed boy who hummed every couple of seconds as i walked him through the process.

little did i know, he wasn't paying attention to the work i was showing him.
