I was able to, what i assume to be, a couple hours of sleep without any nightmares. something i've been wishing i could do since i was rescued from the league.
when i awoke, i find myself softly tucked under the warm comforter and eiji no where to be found in my room.
"i'll be with you the entire time, i promise."
he must have had something he had to do. he's never been one to break his promises, that's just not the type of person he is.
what was once the bright morning sun is now beginning to dim, turning more of an orange color that shines through the sheer layer of curtains.
eiji must have opened them up before he left.
my phone lets off a soft vibration on the nightstand next to my bed that rattles the glass of water sitting next to it, a small sticky note attached to it's side.
'went to train with kaminari and sero :)'
the smile at the end of the note brings one of my own to my lips.
the blue light makes me slightly squint my eyes until they readjust, beginning to read off a text from a group chat uraraka and the girls made.

i stare at the messages with slight hesitation, then my eyes flick up to check the time.
6:46pm
i let a deep sigh, not wanting to move from my comfortable rotting position in bed as i recall what happened last night with bakugou.
another text vibrates in my hand as i open it.

i can't help but let a small smile tug at my lips as the girl softly knocks on the door before entering. she peeks around the corner with a smile plastered onto her own face until it slightly falters when she takes in my cocooned state.
she places her hands on her hips as she stares at me now with a playful pout.
"now how are we gonna have the most fun girls night tonight with you wrapped up like that?"
"about that," i tuck myself deeper into the covers awaiting the fury to come when the next words spill. "i'm not sure if i'm going to go tonight."
just as i thought, her pout turns to anger as she rushes towards me before kneeling in front of my face. i can practically see the steam that jets from her ears which forces me to tuck away even further into the covers.
"there is absolutely no way that i'm letting you stay in!"
"but i have lots of ho-"
"if the next words to come from your mouth is homework i swear i will kick your ass." before i can even blink, the girl is up on her feet ripping away the warmth of the blankets that cocooned me into safety. i curl into a defensive ball, bringing lord explosion junior closer to my chest. i didn't even realize i was clutching him under the blankets with me.
i feel a soft tug on my hoodies sleeve as she attempts to grab my attention. when i look up at her, she has a knowing smirk on her lips as she darts her gaze between the otter plushie in my arms and me. my cheeks slightly heat under the insinuating gaze.
"now get up before i haul you over my shoulder to the shower room myself," her words are spat jokingly but i know all too well that she means it. i let out another hefty sigh before stretching my atrophied muscles into moving.
"okay okay you got me," i let out a small chuckle before setting down lord explosion junior behind me onto the bed, and gather some clothes for whatever events uraraka has up her sleeve for the night.
