"it doesn't hurt."

he whispered it so quietly that i barely even heard the words fall from his mouth but they've been replaying in my mind for the last twenty-four hours.

my mind goes back to his touch. what his skin felt like on mine. something i haven't felt since i got my quirk.

i could feel every hard callous that's carved into the base of his fingers, the softness of his finger tips and the gentleness of his grip. my stomach twists around at the memory of his touch.

something i miss.

my hand unconsciously brushes over the spot he held onto.

something i want him to do again.

"you okay there miyamoto?" uraraka questions with worry laced in her tone. i shake my head slightly and look over at the girl with a smile.

"just lost in thought is all, sorry about that." she gives me a nod as she keeps close to asui. the cool night's breeze shakes the trees slightly, making both of the girls next to me jump slightly.

"this test of courage is no joke huh? ribbit." asui says shakily. the breeze blows right through us and my nose stings at the smell it brings with it. my face scrunches slightly at memories that flash through my mind.

"what's what smell? it reminds me of something burning," i glance at uraraka who has a hand to her nose as she looks around.

i bring my gaze to the dark sky, flecks of blue sparks and ash flutter around above us.

"did something catch fire?" asui chimes in as she also begins to look around us.

"everyone! two villains have attacked us and it's possible there are more coming. return to the camp immediately and don't engage any enemies!"

mandalay's telepath catches me off guard as it overtakes the whispers that i can't even process the words she speaks.

a villain? how did they find us?

"did you guys hear that too?" uraraka's anxious words ground me in the situation.

this is real.

this is happening right now.

i turn to the two girls with a small smile, hoping to make some light on the situation at hand.

"let's not freak out too much okay? let's do what mandalay says and head back to the rest of the class," both of the girls look at me with frightened looks on their faces, attempting to push my own down and be strong.

"we have just received word that the villains are after two particular students. bakugou katsuki and miyamoto konomi."

my heart drops into my stomach at the sound of my name ringing through my ears.
