I stretch my limbs as the small cracks of aching bones and muscle echo through the room. junko went to take the flowers and cards that my friends had left for me back to the apartment while futoshi is helping to pack up some of the clothes that they had brought for me.
"you don't have to do all of that futoshi, i can carry my things." with his back turned to me, he continues to fold some of the hoodies and shirts into the small suitcase.
"well too fucking bad. the doctors may say you're cleared but they can kiss my ass if i'm just gonna let you do all this shit yourself." his tone may come off as harsh but his words begin to warm my heart.
"well in that case, thank you. you're the best twin brother a girl could as for." i feel as the corners of my lips tug upwards into a soft smile as he turns turns around swiftly to glare at me, his matching silver eyes clashing with my own.
"i'm the only twin brother you got idiot!" he gives me a scowl before turning back to the suitcase. i slowly slip out of bed, sliding on the soft slippers next to me. the vending machine filled with melon flavored soda has been calling my name all morning.
"did you want anything from the vending machine futoshi?" i ask as i search through my coin purse to make sure i have enough yen in case he also wants one. i make my way to the door and look up at him with a smile on my face. he stills at the question and looks up at me slowly.
"melon soda."
i give him a thumbs up and make my way out of the stuffy room and down the hallway to the glorious vending machines. i'm nearly skipping down the hallway as i politely wave and say hello to the nurses that i pass by.
i round the corner and they look as if they have a soft heavenly glow to them. i shuffle quickly over to them as i scan over the different flavors trying to find futoshi and i's favorite.
i feel the smile that once graced my lips drop at the empty row they are normally stocked in.
"why of all days do they have to be out of melon." i barely whisper under my breath as i let out a low sigh of defeat. then i remember that we would have to pass by a seven-eleven on our way back to the apartment and i feel myself perk right back up.
as i spin around to head back to my room, i collide with a hard surface that i know wasn't there before. i stumble backwards slightly as i nearly topple into the vending machine behind me.
"watch where you're going." the low growl of the voice i collided is a familiar sound i've heard before. i look up to find bakugou, standing in front of me with his hands hanging at their sides as he side eyes me.
i feel my own eyes widen at the sight of him but my heart beats slightly quicker as it pounds in my ears.
"bakugou what are you doing here?" my voice cracks slightly at the end of the question that rolls off my lips. i pull down the sleeves of the large hoodie so that it slightly bunches into my palms.
