FINAL exams come and go in the blink of an eye.
almost as if all that hard work that i did was all just a dream.
the physical exam went better than expected. i was paired with todoroki and momo to go up against aizawa sensei. we all worked together well and passed with flying colors.
i struggled slightly with the paper portion of the exam, but the score that i got was better then i had expected in all honesty.
it wasn't bad enough to land me where some of our poor classmates who failed the paper exam and can't get the full experience of training camp with the rest of us.
luckily, they were still coming but will be stuck studying with aizawa sensei for the most part.
i think back on the last couple of weeks as we pass through nature on our way to said training camp. my head lays against the headrest and soft music playing in my earbuds. i take in the vast calm that is the country side in japan. no bustling streets or loud horns honking outside our window late at night.
this week is gonna be tough.
without that background noise that is the city, the whispers will be that much louder. suddenly, one of my earbuds are pulled from my ear and i turn to the culprit. a beaming ashido turns to me and begins to pack up all of the snacks she's been munching on the entire trip.
"kokooo i think we're getting off here," ashido says with a bright smile on her face. i give her a nod and begin to pack up my things as well.
we all begin to file off of the bus and we are met with two women dressed in cat like hero costumes. i feel a nudge at my shoulder to find midoriya practically shaking with excitement.
they must be pro heroes.
"miyamoto did you know that the wild wild pussy cats have been around si-" before he can finish his sentence, the green headed body is shoved forward and stumbles to the front of the class.
"i doubt that anyone gives a shit about these low ranking heroes damned nerd," bakugou's tall figure replaces midoriya's at the spot next to me. i furrow my brows slightly as midoriya shrugs it off, seeming to not hear bakugou's harsh words, and begins to fan boy over the pro heroes who just introduced themselves.
the ash blond now stands next to me with his arms crossed tightly across his chest with his usual expression carved into his features.
ever since the incident with the nomu and training together, bakugou has been hanging around more often. he makes comments on things our friends say during lunch, he's less rude when it comes to me asking him a question on a homework assignment.
i feel a smile grace my lips as i realize he's opening up more.
"these are the pro heroes that you will be working with at training camp, so everyone say hello." aizawa monotonously says to us. we all do as he says when the cat hero with short brown hair begins to show off the expanse of land in front of us.
so beautiful.
"the camp is down there," the pussy cat points to a small speck at the bottom of the mountain. "at the base of the mountain."
everyone gasps at the distance and uraraka speaks up.
"then why did we stop all the way up here instead?"
"i think we all know the answer to that."
"why don't we head back to the bus yeah?"
"yup let's load up."
i look around confused as to what was going on as everyone begins to flood towards the bus.
okay what is going on?
"the current time is 9:30 in the morning," the same pussy cat says with a sly tone rippling through her voice as her feline tails swishes back and forth. "if you're fast about it you might make it back by noon."
i feel a tug on my sleeve as everyone turns in my direction and begins to sprint right for the bus. my eye catches on the familiar blond hair of bakugou pulling me out of the way of our stampeding classmates.
suddenly, the blue pussy cat jumps in front of them and pushes her hands into the dirt road.
"if you didn't already know, your training camp has already started." aizawa's low voice next to bakugou and i finally sparks what has been going on this entire time.
the ground beneath us turns into a sludgy mud texture that sweeps everyone off of their feet. i watch as all of my classmates, including myself, are all thrown off the mountain side and into the forest below.
before my feet hit the ground, i maneuver my body as to not twist my ankle or hurt myself in any way. i land swiftly without any injury but then look around at my classmates who are all laying on the ground groaning at the sudden attack of the pro heroes, besides a few.
"as the class representative, i say we all stay together as a group to make our way through the forest," ida speaks up as he steps onto a tree stump to get everyone's attention.
"the hell are you talkin about," bakugou proclaims. "i'm leaving you losers in the dust."
before he can rush off ahead of everyone, mud monsters form from the ground and start heading for us.
"oh i forgot to tell you guys, you'll have to get through my lovely creations that are scattered through the forest before you get to the site. good luck!" the blue pussy cat yells down at us with a bright smile and a wave down at us.
"well change of plans everyone, lets kill these guys and get some lunch!" kaminari yells above everyone as he charges up his quirk and shoots it straight through one of the monsters.
adrenaline pumps through my veins as more of these mud monsters grow from the ground and begin to attack my classmates. everyone putting their all into getting rid of these monsters.
i feel a light tug at my lips at the heat that dances through my veins at the new found excitement of destroying something that won't put anyone at risk.
time to go all out.
in the distance, i watch as four mud monsters begin to sprout from behind a couple of my classmates while none of them are paying any attention. i take the opportunity to use some of the skills i've been fine tuning while training with bakugou for finals.
everything moves in slow motion as i weave through the trees and attacking each of the monsters at their weak points with a fluidity i've never experienced before. i'm light on my feet as everything goes back to its normal speed, the gasps of my classmates grab my attention.
without looking back, the adrenaline pushes me further into the forest with my classmates right behind me as i pave the way for us. the loud blasting of explosions right by my side gets my attention.
i watch bakugou as he moves fluidly through the trees, exploding the monsters without setting a foot on the ground. using the trees themselves as momentum to get himself around.
"how about some good old fashioned competition ko, just like the good ole days!" eiji's voice booms from next to me as i rush towards a couple more creatures that pop up in front of me.
"you know i love some competition eiji," confidence drips through my words as even more adrenaline pumps through me like i've been injected with it.
"whoever has more kills, gets to choose a punishment for the loser."
before i can respond, we give each other a look as a creature grows before us. we dash to either side of the creature and i flip myself through the air so that i'm able to blast its head while eiji goes for its legs.
i land across from the boy and give him a smile.
"that's fifteen for me already eiji, hope you can keep up before we get to the camp." i say no more as i dash away from the boy, heading deeper into the forest.
