Y/N POV:

I was lying on the couch in Nokk's apartment, waiting for her to finish getting dressed for our date. It was a casual date, so I don't know why it was taking so long for her to get ready, but I guess that's just how it is with girls. Harry had given us the entire month of January off for the holidays, and also to recover from the mess of an operation back in December. The doctor said that my bruised ribs should be better by the end of the month, but each day feels like an eternity with how painful it is. I can't even laugh without clutching my side in pain, which I did a lot of as me and Nokk spent this Christmas with our families. For some reason, my siblings find joy in causing me pain... but it probably doesn't help that I laugh at everything either.

Nokk: Alright, sorry for taking so long!

I turned around to see Nokk coming out of her bedroom, she was wearing a pair of blue Jeans, a black trench coat, and a black cloche hat. She was also wearing her signature black lipstick.

Y/N: You look good!

Nokk: Thanks!

Y/N: You sure you're okay with going out without your veil?

Nokk: Oh. I'm perfectly fine with it! Nobody knows what I look like in the first place, and even if they did, I have my hat which I can pull down if I have to.

Y/N: Alright, just making sure!

Nokk: I also have my veil in my purse just in case

Y/N: Well then, if you have everything you need, let's go!

We then walked to the door, and I opened it for her. Once we were in the hall, she locked the door behind us, and we went on our way.

White Mask Base

6:15 PM GMT

Diamondback POV:

I was sitting in a padded chair in the office of the Leader of the White Masks, Commander Archer. To the left of me was Radley and to the right sat Blizzard. Our chairs were facing Archer's desk, and he was sitting behind it. The lights were off, and the only light was coming through the one-way bulletproof window, which wasn't much as it was a dark, snowy day. The reason for us sitting here was to discuss the possible rescue of Poker. Poker had been in enemy hands since October. Originally, we all presumed that he was dead, but thanks to Deimos, we found out that he was in fact still alive but captured. And as of right now, they were holding him at the Rainbow base.

Archer: So, Diamondback, you're telling me that Poker is being held at the Rainbow base?

Diamondback: According to the information provided by Deimos, yes, he is.

Archer: And how can you be sure that they haven't killed him already?

Diamondback: We can't...

Archer: So, you are suggesting that we go in, attack the Rainbow base, cause a bunch of chaos, and risk being completely wiped out, all for the chance to rescue a single soldier, who may or may not be dead already?

Diamondback: Well... we wouldn't go in guns blazing; I was planning more on infiltrating the base silently...

Archer: Here's the thing, I know that Poker is a close friend of yours, and I was close to him as well, but I can't risk the entire future of the White Masks to save one soldier. Not only would we be attacking a base full of elite CT operatives, but we would also be going against British forces and the many nations in NATO. If anything goes wrong, we could risk getting nearly wiped out. Then what good are we?
