Y/N POV:

Doc: Hello Y/N, how are you doing this morning?

Y/N: Doing good, would be a bit better if I didn't have to use crutches to move everywhere though.

Doc: Yeah, that's for sure, with a little bit of luck though, you might not be on them for much longer.

Y/N: That's good to hear.

Doc: I'll be back with some shears, and we'll get your bandages off and take a look at the wound.

And with that doc left the office, shutting the door behind him. I was currently at one of my weekly checkups for my leg. It was taking quite a while to heal, didn't help that they had to do surgery on it. The reason was that the shrapnel piece impaled into my shin bone. I had to be in a cast for a while, but it eventually got to the point where I am now in bandages.

Doc: *opening door* Well let's examine your wound, shall we?

He then proceeded to cut the tightly fit bandages off my leg. After that, he examined my wound, which had begun to scab up somewhat. After a few minutes of examining and having me do certain movements with it. He stood up, picked up his clipboard, and wrote something down.

Doc: Well, it seems like you're in luck Y/N, from what I'm seeing it looks like you will only have to be in crutches for another week, and then we can get you started on physical therapy.

Y/N: Alright, I can't wait until then!

Doc: Let me bandage you up and get you a refill of painkillers and then you can be on your way.

Doc then opened up a drawer that was built into the examination table, pulled out some free bandages, and tightly wrapped my leg—securing the whole thing with a layer of coach tape on the outside.

Doc: I'll be back in a moment

Doc then left again to get me my refill of pain medication. Meanwhile, I fought the urge to fall asleep, I haven't been able to get good sleep ever since the attack at the mall. Luckily, caffeine exists, and it's been my lifeline as of late. I knew I couldn't let Nokk know, she was already babying me as is, not letting me do a single thing by myself, I couldn't imagine what she would do if I told her about my nightmares keeping me up.

Doc: *opening the door* I got your medication, you know the protocol already, don't take more than one every 4 hours, and don't try to do anything complicated whilst under the influence of the medication... you're free to go.

Y/N: Thanks Doc

I then grabbed my crutches and made my way out of the room and med bay and into the hallway. As I was hobbling over to my room, I passed by a vending machine with some Red Bull available for buying. I stopped by it, pulled some spare change out of my pocket, and bought myself the energy drink. Once I got to my room, I grabbed some pre-workout and dry-scooped some, washing it down with the Red Bull. After I put everything away, I climbed into my bed and lay there for a while just staring into space. I was then brought back to reality by the sound of Nokk coming through the door.

Nokk: Hey babe!

Y/N: Hey!

Nokk: I brought you some breakfast from the Mess Hall!

Y/N: I could've gotten it myself... you didn't have to...

Nokk: It's not that big of a deal for me to get you your food, plus, then I have an excuse to see you before I go to the gym.
