I was laying in my bed alone staring at the celling, watching the fan go around. Nokk had been gone this entire week and all of last week because she was on some sort of classified mission with Ghosteyes, which left me alone here at base. Sleeping alone had been hard the past couple days, not that it wasn't already hard enough for me to go to sleep as is. I never realized how much Nokk helped calm my mind, until now of course. I had been staying in my room longer than usual lately because I was tired from the lack of sleep, and things had been calm so I could do so. I was forced to get up though because I got a knock at my door, I went to answer it and saw Elias standing there.
Blitz: Hey, Y/N! My friend!
Y/N: Hey Elias!
Blitz: You look like you just woke Up!
Y/N: Yeah, I did...
Blitz: It's afternoon!
Y/N: I know, I know! I've just been run down lately...
Blitz: Yeah... I get you... that's why me and the guys were thinking about hitting the bar tonight, I was wondering if you would want to come?
Y/N: I mean yeah... couldn't you of just texted me about this though?
Blitz: I did! Five times! And you never responded!
Y/N: Oh... my bad!
Blitz: It's alright... see you at 8!
He then left and I closed the door, I then went to my dresser and open the drawer to see my phone sitting there and a couple of missed messages from Blitz, I also saw that I had a missed call from Timberwolf.
Y/N: Shit, I should probably respond to that...
I picked up my phone and called him back and after a little while he picked up
Timberwolf: *on phone* Y/N!
Y/N: *on phone* Hey! Sorry I missed your call, what's up?
Timberwolf: *on phone* Guess what!
Y/N: *on phone* What?
Timberwolf: *on phone* I got cleared to return to the field!
Y/N: *on phone* Y-you're coming back?
Timberwolf: *on phone* Uhh... Yeah, do you not want me back...?
Y/N: *on phone* It's just... you came so close to dying, and you got a wife and kids and stuff, don't you want to... I don't know... settle down?
Timberwolf: *on phone* Settle down? I... I can't really do that...
Y/N: *on phone* What do you mean? You got enough money right now, and your smart enough to get a high paying job and...
Timberwolf: *on phone* No, no, no it's not that it's just...
Y/N: What?
Timberwolf: *on phone* I-I don't know how to explain it, I just, normal life feels... wrong...
Y/N: *on phone* What do you mean?
Timberwolf: *on phone* Never mind... you'll understand eventually...
Y/N: *on phone* Ok...
Timberwolf: *on phone* And plus, I want my kids to be able to grow up in a safe world, not a world where we have to constantly worry about attacks and terrorists...
Y/N: *on phone* Yeah, I get that, well... I'm glad you're okay. Can't wait until we get to work together again.
Timberwolf: *on phone* Likewise- OH NONONO! *sigh* Hey I got to go, my son just spilled a whole carton of milk, talk to you later Y/N.
