Maddie stood in front of them both, She knew what she needed to do. She herself was of a format of royalty.

Curtsying, she bowed her head along.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, Your Majisties. I thank you for this invitation on your anniversary," She said. Kyle could see his mother smiling, his father had a stoik look but looked impressed.

"Your name my dear?" His father asked.

"Madelyn. But please, I prefer to go by Maddie," She said still bowed.

"Rise, I would like to get to know my future daughter-in-law," his mother said. Maddie stood tall and watched as his mother stepped forward. He started to get worried a bit, especially when it came to her eyes.

But his mother just kept walking around here. When she stopped at her face, he knew that he was a goner. She smiled and brought Maddie in for hug.

"This is a cause for celebration!" She said. Everyone cheered, and went back to the party. Maddie smiled.

Kyle exhaled and walked over to her. "You didn't tell me about her past," His mother said. Kyle got worried about what she would then say.

"Not like it matters, but still," She said and walked off before patting him on the back. Kyle led her to the food and she smiled before launching herself into his arms with a laugh.

"Oh my god," she said. He just couldn't help laughing with her.

"That is no way to greet a heir to the throne young lady," Lord Dresdan said. Maddie turned around in his arms and looked at the Lord. She had delt with men like him from back home.

Next to him was Marissa, the way she looked, she could be regal. Maddie remembered what Kyle said about some of these parties.

"I don't mind Lord Dresden, she is my mate after all," he said.

"That is not how a proper Queen should react," Marissa said as she came forward and tried to show how much more proper she was and hide her glee and such.

Maddie felt her temper rise be relaxed.

"I appreciate you showing me how it is done Miss. Dresdan. However, I do believe it isn't custom to do inappropriate things with another dragons mate," she said.

Marissa pulled away, and as Maddie smirked, that was when Lord Dresdan got a good look at her eyes. His went wide and Kyle stepped forward, for fear.

When his eyes traveled down, he noticed the necklace. The one passed from queen to queen. Lord Dresdan looked like he was gonna pop a top or something.

"You. Your..." He said. Kyle gave him a look.

"She took your mothers necklace," Marissa said out loud. That got a few people's attentions.

"My mother gve it to her. She would have questioned it in front of everyone," he said. Lord Dresdan didn't even wanna mention her eyes, not yet at least.

"Very well," he said. He held out his arm and Marissa took it and they walked off to the rest of the party.

Maddie couldn't help the smile that was on her face. She faught back, against another dragon. Looking over, she then placed a hand on Kyle's arm, and he looked her direction.

"I'm assuming she was the favorite?" Maddie said.  He looked at her with a confusing look. She then played the words she said over in her head and realized her mistake.

"No...no, no,no. I meant When it came to your family and the higher nobles. Was the the favorite to take the role of queen if you didn't find me," she said. Her thumbs rubbed against the sides of his arms.

He then leaned down and rested his forhead on hers, the edges of his hair  brushing up against her eyelashes. His eyes closed and he felt his slight temper finally be at bay.

"I am assuming she is. When I arrived home after seeing you last week, Lord Dresdan was already talking to my father about the possibility of marriage," he said.

"Why?"

"I am the next heir to the Dragonlights and most of the surrounding areas. Unless I had renounced my claim to the throne, I would need to marry and produce another heir. It is how things are when you are higher up," he said.

She kept looking up at his face, her hand then graced his cheek, ever so delicatly.

"Its not my parents fault, they are doing what they are supposed to and what the others believe in," He said.

"Well, then we prove that we are meant to be and that we can do this," She said. His blue eyes opened and watched her gentle face. The look she was giving him was compleatly different than what he had seen before.

He was ok with it though. After a few more moments, he took her hand and back to the party they went.

Maddie couldn't help but laugh at the sights before her, a lot of the party looked super similar to when her family, and even the villiage, would throw parties.

The smiles, cheers, toasts, everything. She even noticed his parents where having a lot of fun and they welcomed her as well. Maddie didn't sense if they weren't being genuine, she could tell that they wanted her to have just as much fun.

It was a different, but welcoming. Especially with all of her worries, but she still stayed by Kyle the whole night. He did worry about something happening.

It didn't help that everyone's eyes where on her when she walked in, as well as the fact that Lord Dresdan and Marissa where trying to get to the throne and propose marriage.

As the night finished, Maddie looked out one of the big windows in the general direction of her home and leaned against the wall.

"A beautiful night," A female voice said. Turning, she saw it was the queen and officially bowed.

"Now now, no need for that," She said with a smile. Maddie raised her head.

"It truthfully i
