The feast itself was loud and fun. Although it was a time to be mourning, even the royal family knew that Rondell would prefer it to be this way. To be happy and loud, smiles and cheers. It was one of the things he loved more than others missing and caring for him like that. However, now was the era and time that had the Dark Reigns worried to a degree as well.

Rondell was the last of his kind, as far as they knew. He was a protector, he could see things and help his people, however now that he was gone it was unknown where they would end up.

Maddie was still kinda down, she didn't know how to handle this one. Yes, people passed on, and yes she knew them, but she didn't know how to handle the passing of Rondell.

While the party was going on, she just got up and walked off into the woods, not too far away. Her hands wrapped around her body, like a protective hug. She then felt her heart shatter, as the realization came that he was truthfully gone.

She collapsed and caved in on herself, her tears just flowing down her face. She coudn't handle the reality. Through all the sobs, her body started to shake, both due to the cold and the crying taking a lot out of her.

A couple of hands reached down and helped pick her up. She sniffed and it didn't smell familier. With all her might she fought, pushing and trying to kick, but to no avail. Until the voice came.

"Maddie. Maddie, please, its just me," it said. Her tear soaked face looked up at the stranger, only to find Kyle looking down on her. She really couldn't stand up right then. But he collapsed with her, holding her close as her tears soaked the jacket he was wearing.

When she finally calmed down, he lifted her head up and wiped her tears. "Dalia came and told me what had happened. I snuck out of my place and came running, hoping to make it in time," He said. She couldn't voice out how much she appreciated it, her throat dry from all the crying and wailing she had done.

She wrapped her arms around him under the jacket, she never knew she needed this until he was right there. "Thank you," He heard her whisper.

Hugging her back, he rested his head on hers, his chin just hitting the top of her left ear. After she pulled away and finally composed herself, she looked up. Then at the jacket, this was where the smell was coming from.

He looked down and smiled. "Sorry, I borrowed it from one of our guards lockers, didn't have much time to change," he said with a smile.

"Won't he notice it's missing?" she asked.

"No, not really. This guard looses his stuff A LOT. Truthfully, I think he just gives up when it comes to some things. Pretty sure he has lost this jacket like 3 times. I'll be ok," Kyle said. He stood up and brought her up with him. She laughed a bit, and he was just happy to make her smile.

"It's ridiculous to be crying like this. I knew it was gonna happen sooner or later, it was just his time and he was getting to that point," she said before tears started to pop up on the edges of her eyes again. Kyle smiled and brought her in again.

"Come now, you know as well as I do that it doesn't matter. He meant a lot to you and your people, it is ok to grieve and care and miss him, I promise," He said into her hair. She sniffled and looked up.

"When did you get so good at speaking like that," She said.

"Oh, Ha Ha," He tried in a joking manner. Which worked, she laughed a bit. A loud crash was heard and loads of laughter. Someone had drank a little too much.

"I suppose I should go back," she said. He nodded. With one final hug, she took off back to the feast and her people, while Kyle just watched. Once he knew she was safe and back where she needed to be, it was up to him to head on back home before anyone really noticed he was gone.

On the way though, he himself shed a few tears. He hadn't known the great dragon for long, but just meeting him had set something in his system, and he truly care for the creature.

Even if it was based in his Mate Bond, he didn't care much. What hurt her, hurt him, and he was ok with that, especially under these circumstances.

He was able to sneak back into the castle, and placed the guards jacket back. Luckly, his stuff was still there so he probably hadn't come back to get something. Walking out, he went about the hallways, like nothing was wrong. He barely ran into anyone, which he wasn't surprised about, but hey, oh well.

The party itself was still going on and he had snuck back in, praying that no one noticed he was gone. So far, no one did. His father and mother where chatting with what looked like old friends, everything was just abuzz. He relaxed and practically continued walking around like he wasn't really doing much. The rest of the night was filled with the same thing that happened at the beginning of the day, women trying to flirt, people trying to please....lots of different things.

His mind was elseware now, thinking about Maddie again. The comfort he provided and she took, the care she loved. Her laughter, he just couldn't help the joy coming off of himself.  He tried to hide it, he really did, but someone caught on to him.
