Although the atmosphere was dark, Kyle could still see the life within the city. A bit different from his own home. He watched as Maddie said hello to everyone and smiled. He watched as the people offered food to one another and free of charge. It seemed odd to him, especially free of charge.

He grabbed Maddie's arm and dragged her to the side of a apple stand, which had fresh apples, much different then what he thought originally. "What is going on here?" he asked her. She just smiled.

"Just wait and see. Its a special day. Today is the anniversary where you all chased us away, and we started a new life, a different one. We love it," She said. He looked to her as she asked for a granny smith apple and the lady behind the booth gave her a few. Although no one was really paying, Maddie reached into her pocket and placed a few spare coins into a tip jar for the lady.

Waving off, she came back and handed him the apple she brought back. "How do you have fresh fruit?" He asked. She looked up into the trees and he followed, and what do you know, they where full of apples, lots of them.

The town seemed to flourish much more then what his people, much more, his father had thought. To them, they where all dead.

"Your people chased us away, and in the end we hated you for it. However, my ancestor decided that the grudge would do nothing more but cause more pain and blood shed. So, we started a new life. A happy life. Eventually, the world forgot that we where even alive and pronounced us deceased a long time ago. But we where always there. In fact, my parents met during your parents engagement announcement.  I was born about 3 years later," She said.

"Awfully early," He said taking a bit of his apple. The idea that he had was that his parents where already engaged and married when they had him, roughly around the same time.

"To you maybe. But my family only had to worry about the people. No other nations, no outsiders, nothing," She said walking to a fountain sprung from a waterfall.

"In that time, they got to hang out a lot. Father hadn't taken over the kingdom until they wed about a year later. They had lots of time together and where able to get to know each other quit quickly. In the end, they are happy, then along came me," She said. Sitting on the edge, she looked down the waterfall that had a pool in it.

Kyle stood on the edge and watched the children play around and people lighting fire and such, it was compleatly different compaired to the fountain at home, no one was allowed in any fountain whatsoever. Not even on hot days.

Maddie looked up to the sky and eventually Kyle looked up as well. In it layed stars upon stars, and along the pathway led more lights and fire and dancing and music. It was a party.

"Maddie, dear," A voice said. Turning around, Kyle watched as a woman with blonde hair and a summer gown ran threw the thicket. A man with bright red hair and a goat tee came through as well and hugged Maddie.

"Mom, Dad, I'm fine," She told them. Her mother shook her head, eye s gazing to her husband who just started to laugh.

Looking to the side, she noticed Kyle, who didn't want to interrupt a touching moment, one that his parents  hadn't done to him or his siblings in a while.

"And you are?" She said. Although the way in his head it would need to sound mean, such as to imply he was ruining a moment, but she said it kindly and sweet as she walked over to him. Maddie knew it would come out eventually, she grabbed as many peoples arms as she could and dragged them into the thicket.

Her mother looked to her, "You went to the Dragonlights home again,Didn't you?" She said with her hands on her hips.

Maddie nodded her head. "I did, and I might have almost caused trouble this time. Which is why he is here," She said. Nodding her head, Kyle took off his hood and looked up to her parents. Planning to here a gasp and a slap or throw him in the dungeon, he closed his eyes.

"Welp, I figured this would happen," Her father stated. Kyle opened his eyes and looked to the couple.

Her mother looked to him and tilted her head a bit. "You look familiar. Have we met before?" She asked. He shook his head, he knew that he would remember someone like her. "Your the prince," She said as she looked to him.

He nodded his head. "You must be Kyle, the first born," She said. He was surprised how much she knew.

"My you have grown quit a bit since the last time I saw you," She said. Everyone looked her way. "That day I brought Maddie over to the city and we went into the playground," She said. Everyone just eyed her.

"Oh, Never mind. Welcome to our celebration dear. What can I get for you," She asked.

"Oh, please no, your highness," He said. She just started to chuckle.

"Yeah, my family is very different from others," She stated. Music started to play again. Maddies father took her mothers arm and they went down the stairs by the waterfall to the crowd below.

"Come on, you can have a little bit of fun before you go home," she said grabbing his arm and dragging him after her parents. Once they got to the pool area, the forest around the city was illuminated and people where dancing.

Everyone stopped when they noticed her parents and they danced along, lovingly. Her mother then grabbed Maddie's arm and then switched her for her father.

"Sorry dear, Maddie just knows how to dance a bit better," She said. Everyone around started to laugh and even he did as the King slumped down defeated, but eventually started to laugh along with the rest of his people.

Kyle enjoyed his time, it was fun and interesting to see this new side of a whole different group of people that didn't have a care in the world.

He surly didn't want it to end, but it had too.
