Kyle watched as his father and mother took off towards an old friends house just down the street. He would meet his soon to be bride that night. He really was scared but a a bit excited. What if she was his mate. What if she wasnt.

He thought about all of this. If she was dead, he would feel something right about now. Wouldn't he? He walked over towards his closet and looked around at all his colors. They where all light colors, or close to light. He had a couple dark things, but it was  law that you could not have anything majorly dark, or a couple black things.

He placed a nice blue shirt on with some black jeans and some converse shoes. He went downstairs to find his sister making something and watching their little brother. The closer he got the more he noticed she was crying.

"Cassie?Whats wrong?"He asked. She turned, and he saw that her face was bright red with tear stains along the cheeks. She turned back towards their little brother.

"I had an argument. I want to start a family, but hes not ready. I just needed some time to think alone. But I dont understand why he doesnt want a family. When we met he told me hes always wanted one,"She said. Her hands fell in her face and she started to cry a bit.

"Maybe he just wants to get things settled down. He is off helping other defend us from somethings. If you where pregnant, he couldnt take care of you while trying to help others. He wants a future for the next generation. For your kids. Give him a little bit of time, and he'll be ready."Kyle said to his sister.

She looked up at him as if he had just solved all her answers, which he did. She hugged him and ran off, which left Kyle watching Anthony.

"Why do girls have to be so mushy about that stuff,"Antony asked his older brother. Kyle smiled and ruffled his little brothers hair.

"Its only at a certain age, buddy. You will feel the same one day, as will I,"He said. His brother ran off and shouted down the hall,"Ewww."

Kyle laughed and stood up and went to the window. Staring into the woods, he thought he saw something black.

It was light outside, almost midday. He ran down the hall and grabbed his sward. Heading out the back door he ran towards the woods. Before looking, he charged in, his heart racing as he ran off. When he got to the place, there was nothing.

Looking over in the trees he saw something. He hid. But looking around the trunk, Kyle saw a little girl. She had dark brown hair, that was up in a bow. She had a black skirt with brown shoes. She then had on a green shirt. Looking around, he saw nobody with her.

So he walked off and went towards her.She turned and saw him. She froze, so did he. Kyle looked into her eyes. They where dark green, an eye color that no dragonlight had.

She ran one way, him in the other. When he reached his home he ran straight to the library. He then pulled an old book that hadnt been touched in years. He opened it and went around to look for something.

Then he stopped on one page. It was the green eyes the little girl had. Reading down the page, he found nothing. Then once he turned to the next page, his eyes stopped on one picture. The owners of the green eyes.

Dark Reigns.
