His mother watched his facial expressions, the glint he had in his eyes. She knew that glint, she saw it from her husband. He had seen her, she knew he had. She tapped her husband, but he was so preoccupied with his conversation that he just ignored her tapping.

She took it upon herself, stood up and walked over to find her son, talk to him. Everyone was so preoccupied with everything else, they never knew, but she was his mother, she knew, she definatly knew. Walking up to him, he was still in a haze.

"Dear?" she said.

"Mother," he said compossing himself. She chuckled a bit and smiled. And so they talked, their minds going elseware. She knew something was up, call it mother's intuition. she laughed a bit and smiled. He was trying so hard to keep himself composed and act like he hadn't just been doing anything or thinking of anyone.

She held out her arm, and he knew instantly, she would like a dance with him. It wasn't uncommon, he knew that she loved to dance and while his father was catching up with old friends, she usually dragged one of her kids on the floor. When they where younger, they didn't mind so much, but as they got older it became a bit a of a hassel.

Kyle didn't mind it though. He knew it pleased his mother, and to see her smile, it was worth evrything. Her life hadn't always been that of royalty. Her mate just turned out to be his father, Kyle's grandfather through a big party, as such everyone was invited to celebrate. However, they had expected him to find a nobel lady, but that didn't turn out as planned, not like they cared too much.

Ever since, it has been a party after another, and his mother was obsessed with them, but only to an extent, just for the fun of them. Her parties where very cost friendly as people would say, but you could never tell from the way they looked.

She always gave back to the people, he admired his mother, and he knew his father adored her, even if he didn't show it all the time.

Besides, if it got him away from prying eyes, both women and fathers, than he was all for dancing with his mother.

"Kyle,dear...." She started, but then stopped when she heard a groan. He knew exactly what she wanted to talk about. And it mainly had to do with either him getting married, or finding someone to marry.

His mother believed in the concept of soulmates and finding ones mate, but she was also a realist, she needed to think about the future, how many dragons there where in thid world, and how likely it would be for him to find her.....not great odds.

"Now, now. We talked about this before," she said as the music finished. They walked off to the side so she could talk to him. Upon looking out the window, it had started to rain a bit. Leaning up against the column he just had this grim look on his face.

"Mother..." He started.

"Don't you start. Its for the good of the kingdom, our kind, as well as your future," she said. She ket going on and on until he finally just burst.

"I found her," He said. looking at his mother, she had a smirk on her face. He was just dumbfounded.

"I knew it," she said with a little bit of a laugh. He turned bright red with embarassment. She did catch him thinking, she did all this to try and get a rise out of him....which had worked.

He grabbed her wrist and went off to a section with not that any people.

"I don't know why you didn't talk to us or tell your father and I. We wouldn't be doing this if you had," she said. He knew he had to tell her the truth sooner or later, but he also knew that he needed to be quiet and not say everything without any format of the full story.

"It's complicated mother," he said looking down. she stopped and looked at her oldest.

"We need to keep it a secret right now, at least until something is understood or blown over," he said. She nodded. She gave him a genrous smile and then walked back to the party, pretending that she didn't hear much and getting back to the festivities.

He just stayed put, his mind wandering back to Maddie. The green of her eyes just kept coming back to him, he had never truly appreciated or cared for green until he met her. The tears that shed from them today hurt him, but when she smiled after being comforted by him, they shined and where as bright as a moon, a green one at least.

He looked down and smirked, and turned back to the party at hand. Everyone was having a grand old time, he would have preferred to be a part of the feast honoring Rondell, it looked more his speed. A lot of stuff the Dark Reigns did looked more his speed.

-------------------------------------------------------
She awoke in her room and looked out the window. The rain was still coming down, but had slowed immensly. Some of the people where still celebrating and enjoying thair day. All Maddie could do was wrap her arms around herself and squeeze.

The passing night kept going through her mind, the feast, the rain, and Kyle. He actually came and comforted her, even if it wasn't as long as she truly wanted, that didn't mean that she didn't appreciate it. He really, truly, does care for her, the thought made her smile more than anything.

Walking throughout her room, she had gotton dressed and relaxed, trying to figure out what to do for the time being. she had nothing else major going on, but she also didn't know what she wanted to do. Usually she would just run around the forests, do her duties with the people and visit Rondell.

She wasn't alive when the last true Dark Reign passed on. She didn't know at all how long these things lasted or how people did things after this.
