Max was right, media day was horrible. I absolutely hated it, but fortunately it was over.

And we had much better things to do now, like go to dinner with my favorite people. Lando wasn't coming, he said he first wanted to talk to me before meeting my brother.

I didn't even think about it like that, I asked him to meet my brother and we weren't even dating or nothing.

But friends could meet each other's siblings too, it was no big deal. Like Ava, she knew Ryle pretty good too.

A bit too good if you ask me, she always liked him, had a crush on him for years and I was sure that they hooked up once or twice.

But he was my brother, and not a good guy, not relationship material, so she ended up dating Kai, who is, don't get me wrong, absolutely great for her.

I loved them together.

"Did you see dad yet?" I asked, looking at Ryle who was sitting in front of me. "No, I also don't feel the need to talk to him, I'm here for you"

"So you will not talk to him while you're here?"

"That's the plan" he nodded, leaned back in his chair. "How are you feeling for tomorrow?"

He was changing the subject, fair enough, I already suspected he wouldn't want to talk about our dad.

I shrugged. "Good I guess? It's only practices"

"But the first time you will sit in the car" Kai said. "So don't try to be a hero, get to know the car first"

"She knows how to handle a car" Ava chuckled nervously. I hated how she was when Ryle was around.

Always trying to impress him. As if this would impress him?

"Kai is right" Ryle said. "Don't try to be a hero" he looked at me. "Be careful"

I nodded, but how could I be careful while driving an F1 car? Pretty impossible.

Ryle walked me back to my hotel room after dinner.

"How's Vanna?" I asked as we were walking through the hallway. "Good I guess?" He answered with a shrug.

Vanna was his ex, or current hookup? Girlfriend? Friend with benefits? Who knows with him.

I absolutely hated her and I was sure she hated me.

"Still dating her?"

"I never dated her and I never will" he simply said. "And what about you?"

"Nothing special" I shrugged.

He looked at me, his eyes narrowed. "Sure" we stopped in front of my room and right in that moment, Lando walked up to us.

"Anyways, good night Ryle, I am tired I should head in" I rambled, already grabbing my key card.

He frowned. "Yeah sure, good nigh-"

"I have great timing, if I say so myself" Lando said with a smile on his face, putting his hand around my waist and kissed my cheek.

Why was he being so annoyingly cute now? I thought he would still be mad, but no, he had to kiss my cheek in front of my brother.

Who I just told I had no one special in my life.

"Um-Lando, this is Ryle, my brother" I quickly introduced him.

But Ryle was already looking at Lando, from head to toe. Unimpressed, quite the opposite how Kai looked at him.

"Oh right!" Lando said, turning to Ryle. "Good to meet you, I am-"

"Nothing special?" Ryle interrupted him, but looked at me. I shrugged with a smile.

He rolled his eyes. "Have a good night" he said, but turned his attention to Lando now. "You better don't touch her or I'll k-"

"Okay okay, we get it" I quickly pushed Ryle away. "Good night Ryle"

He chuckled before walking away. "Good night"

"I am sorry, he's a bit protective" I turned to Lando, opened the door to let him in.

"Yeah, I don't think he really likes me" he chuckled. "But unfortunately for him, I think I will touch you"

I guess our talk could wait. I needed to fuck the stress away and hopefully Lando could help with that.
