Lando left right after we had sex, pretty late at night. He didn't want to stay, didn't want to sleep next to me.
Which was fair. It would be much harder to avoid the journalists early in the morning. What was he gonna say? That he slept next to Max?
So I slept alone, woke up alone, got ready, skipped breakfast because I was too nervous to eat.
A little of my nerves disappeared when I walked in the paddock and saw Ryle, Jason, Jonah, Kai and Ava sitting in front of the hospitality.
"There she is" Ryle nodded at me. "Did you have a good night? Had enough sleep?"
I know what he was getting at, but I wasn't gonna fall for it.
"Yes I slept like a baby" I nodded. "And you? Didn't steal anything did you? Jewelry, money, someone's virginity?"
He snorted. "What kind of guy do you take me for? I don't think I will steal anyone's virginity anymore"
"But there are some hot girls here" James said as he looked around. "Too bad you're too deep in Vanna to notice"
I noticed how Ava's eye twitched a little. "Oh, are you dating someone?"
"No, I'm just not interested in looking at girls right now" Ryle shrugged. "I am here for my sister, not to fuck random girls"
And Ava smiled at that, nodded even more enthusiastically. "Yeah you shouldn't waste your time on girls in here"
I bet Kai noticed it as well, because he was looking at her with one eyebrow raised.
He didn't know what to think about it and to be honest, neither did I.

"You're doing a good job Alix" Kai's voice sounded on the radio and normally he would be able to calm me down.
But I was so nervous, why? Why the fuck was I so nervous.
Maybe because this car was definitely made for Max. It was build around him. I bet he liked driving like this, not me though.
"We aren't worried about the pace, just give us long runs" Kai said. They were trying to put less pressure on me, didn't trust me to go on full pace yet.
I obviously also didn't know this track yet. I never drove here.
"Norris behind" he said. I looked in my mirror, saw his orange car driving closer.
He was probably doing a fast practice lap, so I moved a bit to the side.
He drove next to me, but didn't drive past, he just kept driving next to me. What the fuck was he doing?
I looked next to me. He was circling his finger in the air and pointed at him. What did that mean?
He drove in front of me, didn't drive away though. He kept driving in front of me.
He wanted me to follow him.
We drove to the start of the track and then he started speeding again, I drove after him.
At first I thought he wanted to race me, but that wasn't it.
He was showing me the racing line, where to hit the apex, when to deploy the battery.
He was teaching me, showing me around the track.
God, this man.
We drove for about 3 laps like that and I learned so much.
I got out of the car after the practice session, took my helmet off and ran to the toilet immediately. Fortunately I didn't eat breakfast, still threw up though.
I was shaking when I walked out of the restroom, still shaking when I walked back to the hospitality.
Ryle noticed it, he and the boys were waiting for me in front of it.
"That wasn't bad Alix, quite the opposite"
"Yeah, because Lando helped me" I said. If he didn't, then I would probably be last.
Not that practices mattered that much, but still.
"You're just way too nervous, you need to relax" he said and he was so right. "What do you say, let's go for a Caines drive?"
My eyes widened a little. I was so up for that.
"Did the boys come with their bikes as well?" I asked.
Ryle nodded, turned to James. "Give her your keys"
"What? No?" He frowned. "I am not giving her my bike"
"She drives better than you, give her your damn keys" Ryle said annoyed, but it worked, because James quickly grabbed his keys and gave them to me.
"Thank you James, I'll take care of your baby" I hugged him, even though I know he only gave me his keys because Ryle told him to.
I was so excited for this.
