Lando's POV

"Sorry I'm late, I didn't hear my alarm" I said as I ran into the hospitality. Zak was already shaking his head.

He was obviously not happy with me right now, but I didn't have time to bother with him.

I quickly changed into my racing suit, zipped it all the way up and walked to the garage.

Alix was walking to her garage as well, together with Max and Kai.

Her eyes found mine for a quick second, but she looked away even faster.

"-long stints at first and then we want to check the qualifying pace" Will said, I missed the first part of his sentence but I think I got the most important part anyway.

"Alright" I nodded, grabbed my helmet and sat down in the car.

Long stints were always pretty boring, but I knew they were necessary. It was just me driving around to check how hard I could push these tires.

"Caine behind, seems like she's doing qualifying runs so leave her space" Will said, so I left her enough space.

Didn't want to meet her in the stewards office again.

She passed me pretty quickly, driving away. She was definitely doing a qualifying run and she seemed fast.

She looked absolutely stunning last night. Can't lie, she definitely caught my eye, just like she always did.

But seeing her kissing James definitely stung. It was a stab in my heart.

Wish I never told her we couldn't be together because she was a Red Bull driver, but to be fair, it would be very messy.

It already was messy as fuck. All these lines we drew before hooking up, were starting to get very blurry.

I caught up to her pretty quickly, too quickly if I was honest. She was waiting for me, slowing down as if she wanted me to catch up.

She looked at me as I started driving next to her, opening her visor so I could see her eyes.

And they looked as if she wanted to kill me.

Fuck.

She nodded, closed her visor again and looked ahead of her.

Okay so she wanted a race. Not what I would normally do during practices, but okay fine.

"Don't do it Lando" it was as if a voice in my head told me to behave.

But it was obviously Will who was probably rolling his eyes at our behavior again. I bet Kai was in Alix's ears as well.

If she wanted to play then who was I to deny that?

So when we reached the start/finish line, we started racing each other and she wasn't holding back.

Damn she definitely wasn't.

The other drivers moved out of our way as we raced passed them. I bet their engineers were in their ears as well, telling them we were being crazy, again.

I drove passed her, did a little wave while doing it.

"Lando, don't do stupid things" Will said. "We don't want to crash the car now"

I ignored him. I wasn't gonna crash, but I also didn't want them to know how fast our car actually was.

So I didn't go full pace, let her drive passed me again and I also let her win our little race.

She flicked me off before driving away.

"Are you done playing now? Come in the pit Lando" Will now sounded annoyed, so I did what he asked. I drove back to the garage.

It was also the end of the practice session so I didn't really have a choice either way.

Will looked at me as I got out of the car, his eyebrow raised. "What was that?"

"I don't know? A good practice session, no?"

"No" he rolled his eyes. "You don't race other drivers during a practice session, Lando"

"We were doing qualifying runs" I shrugged. "Together"

"And he wishes he was doing more things with her" Max Fewtrell laughed as he nudged me. "Together with her"

He flew over with a couple of other friends because it was my birthday this weekend, but I already wished he stayed at home.

"Shut up" I mumbled.

"What was that?" Will asked. "Nothing" I quickly pushed Max out of the garage.

Alix walked out of her garage as well, together with Kai.

And once again, she looked at me with fire in her eyes.

"Stop eye-fucking each other" Max chuckled as he nudged me in the ribs. "And just go tell her you like her already"

"She has a boyfriend now" I unzipped my racing suit. "She doesn't care if I like her or not"

"Sure, I think she wi-"

"Hi Lando, I want to thank you for last night" Ava interrupted Max, pushing him away a little.

"Um yeah no-"

"What are you doing tonight? Can I come to you?" She now interrupted me.

Max was standing behind her and mouthed 'who's that' to me.

"We are just gonna go to dinner together, nothing too special"

"Awesome, then I'll see you tonight at dinner" she said before walking away again.

"What the fuck was that" Max mumbled, looking at how she walked outside of the paddock, not to the Red Bull hospitality.

"I think I made a mistake"
