"What is this?" Ava asked as we walked in a huge venue together. We were both wearing dresses, which was quite unusual lately. But it was nice dressing up again, putting makeup on and doing my hair. I felt confident again.
Exactly what I needed because I didn't look forward to this. A charity event where everyone had to be at.
Including Lando and my dad.
Fun, so much fun.
James didn't want to come with me, he said he wanted to spend time with Ryle and Kai.
Said he would enjoy that more than some stupid charity event.Fair enough then.
"A charity event" I said. "We just have to attend, look pretty and that's all"
"That, I can do" she chuckled, grabbed a glass of champagne and handed one to me as well.
One glass couldn't hurt, but I wasn't gonna get drunk before a race weekend.
"Dad alert" Ava nodded at my dad who was probably only standing a few steps away. "I will see you later" she chuckled as she walked away.
Yeah fuck, thanks for nothing Ava.
"Alix" my dad said with a fake smile. He was standing next to Christian and Helmut. "You aren't drinking before a race weekend, right?"
"I sure am" I said, sipping from my champagne.
His eyes narrowed, as if he was telling me to shut up.
And then they got in their own conversation, about the racing weekend and whatnot.
I sighed as I looked around. Why was I standing here if I wasn't even part of the conversation?
My eyes caught Lando, who was looking handsome, as always.
He was also a bit more dressed up than he normally would be. His sleeves were rolled up, revealing his tan arms.
I wouldn't mind cuddling up in them after this boring night.
Wait no, scratch that - I was dating James.
But then I noticed who he was talking to.
Ava.
He was talking to Ava.
She was laughing about something he said, putting her hand on his arm. Yeah he was funny but back off.
First Kai, then Ryle and now Lando?
I wanted to walk up to them and disturb their little moment, but I was smarter than that.
"Excuse me" I said to these men talking about whatever, pretty sure they didn't even hear me anyways.
And instead of walking to Lando and Ava, where I actually wanted to walk to, I walked to the bar.
"Water please" I ordered. I tried not to look at Lando and Ava, but for some reason my eyes always wanted to look exactly in their direction.
So I forced myself to look around the room, at Max who was dancing with Kelly, Charles, who was in a conversation with his teamboss. Yuki, who was focused on the food.
"You're looking beautiful tonight" Lando's voice shook me out of my thoughts.
"Thanks" I mumbled, trying to look straight ahead, but I could feel his gaze on me.
"You should stay away from Ava" I said, trying to look unbothered but of course I was bothered, why else would I tell him to stay away from her?
"Funny" he leaned against the bar. "I was about to tell you the same thing"
He was about to tell me to stay away from Ava? Was he trying to play with me or something?
"And you don't ask me why" he pointed out. "Interesting"
I rolled my eyes. "Why should I stay away from her, Lando?"
He tapped his fingers against the bar and looked at me with a smirk. "You can ask me one question every time you let me come"
I frowned. Let him come?
"Come where?"
He chuckled, leaned a bit closer. "Oh I'm not picky, your mouth, inside of you, on your boo-"
"Yeah okay I got it" I cut him off. "You can't say that, I'm dating Jam-"
"Yeah yeah, you're dating James" he leaned back. "How's that going? Where is he?"
"He had other things to do"
"Interesting" he took a step closer to me, his fingers brushed against mine. "I would never let you go to these things alone"
"Because you also have to be here" I took a step back again.
"Tough crowd" he chuckled. "Enjoy your evening little fairy"
"Yeah you too" I mumbled.
As long as he didn't spend it with Ava, then I would be fine.
