Alix's POV

"Let's do these interviews quickly so I can go back to the hotel room" I mumbled to Carley.

I was feeling a bit sick, my head was pounding and I could feel a fever coming up, so I wanted to go back to my room and rest.

"Interviews are for later, you have to go to the stewards" Carley looked down at her phone, knew that I wasn't gonna be happy about it.

"What? Why?"

"Because you blocked Lando" Kai said as he walked in the hospitality. "I told you he was on a fast lap"

"And I left space" I raised my eyebrow.

Kai and Carley both looked at me, they didn't say anything but I could read their faces. They clearly didn't think I left enough space.

"Will I get a penalty?"

"They will probably give you a five place grid penalty" Kai said and he sounded completely unbothered.

"Are you kidding me?" I grumbled. That meant I would start on P7 while I did so good in qualifying.

I walked to the stewards office alone, walked inside and already saw my dad standing in the corner of the room.

He didn't have to be here, he was never there when driver's got called to the stewards office.

But of course he was here when it was me who got called in.

Lando walked in moments later, also still wearing his racing suit. He didn't smile or acknowledge me, he just frowned as he looked at my dad.

He still didn't know he was my dad by the way.

They told us why we were called in - because Lando complained on the radio that he didn't have enough space.

"I left a car width, he could easily pass me" I explained, which made Lando chuckle. "You were on the racing line and I was on a fast lap"

"And I left you space" I turned my head to Lando. "No you didn't" he shook his head.

"I did, you could easily get passed me"

He just sighed, which got me even more annoyed.

"Why are you so focused on me? You could get passed, Lando, you're just doing this to annoy me"

"No Alix, you left me no space, you fucked up my lap and you were on the racing line when you were on a in lap"

"I wasn't on the-"

"He's right" my dad cut me off. "You were on the racing line and you blocked him, Alix"

Why was he talking? Why was he talking as if he knew me. Which he obviously did, but Lando didn't know that.

But he definitely also thought it was weird. He looked at my dad and back at me. "Right" he nodded.

"Yeah whatever, just give me the penalty so I can go back to my room because I'm not feeling good" I rolled my eyes.

But this was definitely something you weren't supposed to say when your competition was standing in the same room.

As expected, they gave me a five place grid penalty, so I would start behind Lando. Not what I preferred, but honestly, it was what it was.

"You okay?" Lando asked as we both walked out of the stewards office. "Yeah awesome" I said sarcastically.

He raised his eyebrow, clearly knowing that I wasn't fine. "You want me to drive you to your hotel?"

"No, I don't want that"

"You want me to cuddle the sad out of you?" He chuckled, referring to the one time I asked him to fuck the sad out of me.

It helped back then. I definitely wasn't feeling sad anymore when he was on top of me.

And what I would give to cuddle up next to him right now.

"I am dating James"

"Oh is that still going on?" A damn smirk on his face.

"Yes Lando, my relationship is still going on" I turned my head to him. "How's your relationship going?"

"I don't have a relationship" he fixed his racing suit, which was indeed hanging too low on his hips. "Except if you want to be my girlfriend?"

I snorted. "Oh now you want me to be your girlfriend? Thought you couldn't be with me because I was a Red Bull driver?"

"Yeah well, it will make a good story that we can tell our kids about, no?"

"No" I shook my head. "It won't be a good story"

"It definitely will be" he shrugged, walked away to his hospitality and I just looked at him.

What was his deal?

"And don't worry Alix" he said as he turned around, walking backwards to his hospitality. "You can look at my ass all you want tomorrow"

I chuckled. "I will pass you in lap one and then you can look at mine, Norris"

"Ah my favorite view" he laughed, waved his hand and turned around.

Fuck, I couldn't wait to beat him tomorrow.
