Siniz's POV:The photo shoot had dragged on longer than expected. Jungkook had been posing for hours, moving effortlessly from one shot to the next under the bright studio lights. I watched from the side, holding a clipboard and coordinating with the team. It wasn't anything new; photo shoots often ran late. But tonight, the tiredness weighed on both of us.
As the team started packing up, Jungkook glanced at me, his hair slightly tousled from the last outfit change. "Hey, you look exhausted," he said, his voice gentle. "Want me to drop you home? It's already late."
I hesitated for a second, not wanting to inconvenience him. But the truth was, I was too tired to say no. The thought of walking home alone this late wasn't appealing.
"Are you sure?" I asked, brushing a loose strand of hair behind my ear. "I don't want to trouble you."
Jungkook smiled, shaking his head. "It's no trouble at all. Let me do this."
His offer was too tempting, and before I could protest again, he was already grabbing his jacket and motioning for me to follow him to the car.
——
The drive to my apartment was quiet, the hum of the car engine the only sound between us. Outside, the streets were mostly empty, the city lights flickering as we passed them. Jungkook was focused on the road, but every now and then, he'd glance over at me, a soft smile playing on his lips.
"How was the shoot?" I asked, breaking the silence. "You looked great, as always."
He chuckled, his eyes still on the road. "You say that every time."
"Because it's true," I replied, grinning. "You make it look easy."
He shook his head, his smile widening. "Only because I've got a good manager watching out for me."
My heart did a little flip at his words, but I pushed it down, trying not to let my feelings show. I'd gotten good at pretending around him. Too good, maybe.
When we finally pulled up in front of my apartment, Jungkook turned off the engine and glanced over at me. "You good? Need me to walk you to your door?"
I smiled, unbuckling my seatbelt. "No, I'm fine. Thanks for the ride, Jungkook. I really appreciate it."
He nodded, but there was something in his eyes, a flicker of hesitation, like he wanted to say something more. But he didn't. Instead, he just smiled that soft, almost shy smile of his. "Anytime, Siniz."
I stepped out of the car, waving as I headed toward the entrance of my building. As I made my way upstairs, I couldn't stop thinking about him—the way he'd looked at me, the warmth in his voice. It was getting harder to ignore how much I cared about him.
——
The moment I walked into the apartment, Shanaya was already on the couch, wrapped in a blanket, a bowl of popcorn in her lap. She looked up at me, her eyes immediately narrowing in suspicion.
"You're home late," she said, a mischievous grin spreading across her face. "And don't think I didn't notice whose car dropped you off."
I sighed, kicking off my shoes and collapsing onto the couch beside her. "It's not what you think."
Shanaya raised an eyebrow, offering me some popcorn. "Oh really? Spill the tea, Siniz. Don't even try to hide it."
I groaned, grabbing a handful of popcorn and popping a few into my mouth. "There's no tea to spill. We were at the shoot all day, and it ran late. He just offered to drop me home."
Shanaya wasn't convinced. "Uh-huh. And? How did you feel about it? Be honest with me. You know I can see right through you."
I paused, chewing thoughtfully. Shanaya had always been able to read me like a book, even when I didn't want her to. "I don't know... It's confusing. I've been trying to ignore how I feel, but... he's so sweet. And lately, it's getting harder to keep my distance."
Shanaya turned her body to face me, her eyes lighting up with excitement. "I *knew* it! You're falling for him, aren't you? Siniz, you have to admit it."
I sighed, leaning back into the couch, letting the confession slip out. "Okay, fine. Yes. I like him. A lot. But it's complicated, Shanaya. He's... well, *him*. And I'm just me."
She rolled her eyes dramatically, tossing a piece of popcorn in the air and catching it. "First of all, stop with the 'just me' nonsense. You're amazing, and anyone—including Jungkook—would be lucky to have you."
I smiled at her words, feeling a bit lighter, but the doubts still lingered. "I know, but his life... it's so different from mine. The fame, the attention... How could I possibly fit into that?"
Shanaya grabbed my hand, squeezing it. "You don't have to fit into his world, Siniz. He clearly likes *you* for who you are. Not for what you can be in his life, but for the person you are in your own."
I looked down at our hands, feeling a wave of emotions I wasn't ready to deal with. "I'm just scared. What if it all goes wrong? What if I get hurt?"
Shanaya smiled softly, her voice gentle. "That's the risk with any relationship. But if you never take the chance, you'll never know what could have been."
I nodded, her words sinking in. She was right, of course. I had been so focused on protecting myself from getting hurt that I hadn't allowed myself to consider what it would be like to really let Jungkook in.
"So, what are you going to do?" Shanaya asked, her eyes twinkling with curiosity.
I took a deep breath, leaning my head back against the couch. "I don't know yet. But maybe... maybe it's time I stop running away from my feelings."
Shanaya grinned, clapping her hands together in excitement. "That's the spirit! And when he finally confesses his love for you, you *better* call me immediately."
I laughed, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. "You'll be the first to know."
We stayed up late that night, talking and laughing about everything and nothing. Shanaya kept teasing me about Jungkook, and despite my protests, I couldn't help but smile. For the first time in a long time, I felt like maybe—just maybe—things would be okay.
And as I went to bed that night, I couldn't stop thinking about him. About the way he made me feel, the way he always showed up, even when I didn't expect him to.
Maybe it was time to take a chance on him.
