Satoru: Saori, mother said you were out late last night, and when you came home, you were covered in blood. We've talked about this—you can't go exorcising curses without a grown-up to supervise.

Saori: But father is away, and mother is busy. Plus, it was on the way back from school! Besides, curses here are weak...

Satoru sighed, knowing she was right about the weak curses. Their parents had purposely chosen a country with fewer curses, hoping to keep her hidden. The place had so little jujutsu activity that there was almost no risk of anyone noticing Saori's powers.

Saori: Onii-chan, please. I'm begging you—let me come to Jujutsu High. I can't stand it here! Everyone is just so... normal.

Satoru: You know you can't be here, Saori. And what's wrong with being normal? Being normal is a good thing.

Saori: But I'm not normal... I'm just like you. And it's hard, Onii-chan, being the only one different here.

Satoru sighed again, his voice softening.

Satoru: I'm sorry, Saori. But this is for your own good. And stop hunting curses on your own. That's the end of this discussion.

Satoru hung up the phone, rubbing his temples. He knew his sister too well. She would keep hunting curses whether he liked it or not. But as long as she stayed under the radar of the jujutsu community, she would be fine... for now.

Present day

Megumi: Hey, can we talk about Saori?

Satoru: Oh? What about?

Megumi: Well, the four of us were talking, and we were wondering if it's okay with you that she goes on a more difficult mission with us—under the radar, of course. So far, the missions I've taken her on are... well, too easy. I really think it's a waste of her talent.

Satoru: You know what, Megumi? I agree.

Megumi raising an eyebrow: Really? You do?

Well, that was easier than expected, Megumi thought to himself.

Satoru: Yup.

Megumi: Why the sudden change of heart?

Satoru: I have my reasons. Plus, if I say no, she's just going to spite me and go anyway. Then I'll probably lose my status as the world's best brother.

Megumi: Oh... okay. I promise to keep her safe. Not that she needs me to...

Satoru: Megumi, even the strongest need help sometimes. If it wasn't for all of you, I might still be stuck in the Prison Realm. Don't sell yourself short.

Megumi nods, about to leave, when Satoru stops him.

Satoru: Megumi...

Megumi: ??

Satoru: If you don't mind, I'd like to tell Saori the news myself. I'm spending time with her tomorrow, so you can take a break and head back to school. I'm sure your classmates are already missing you.

Megumi, slightly disappointed but understanding, nods.

Megumi: Right.

The next day...

Megumi is sitting on the steps outside, texting Saori, when Yuji and Nobara sneak up from behind.

Nobara murmuring: So, who are you texting, Fushiguro?

Megumi jumps, quickly covering the screen.

Megumi: It's none of your business.

Nobara grins mischievously.
