The sun was beginning to set, casting a golden hue over the streets as Saori and Nobara strolled through Shibuya's vibrant shopping district. Bags filled with clothes and accessories hung from their arms, evidence of a successful day of shopping. Nobara had been excitedly dragging Saori from one store to another, her eyes gleaming at each new piece of fashion that caught her attention.
"Okay, I love this skirt," Nobara declared as they left their latest stop.
Saori smiled, adjusting the bags on her arm. "You're going to turn heads for sure. I still think you should've gone for the boots too, though."
Nobara waved her off. "I'll get those next time. Gotta pace myself!" She glanced at Saori, narrowing her eyes playfully. "I bet that dress would make Fushiguro's head turn."
Saori blushed, a smile tugging at her lips. "You know it's not like that... but I'll get it anyway."
"Mm-hmm," Nobara hummed knowingly. "Sure you will."
As they wandered through the streets, they spotted a cozy little café and decided to take a break. Inside, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and sweet pastries welcomed them as they sat down by the window. Saori sipped her drink, watching as Nobara carefully laid out all her new purchases for review. It was moments like these, Saori realized, that made her grateful for friends who could make even the most ordinary day exciting.
Nobara leaned back, swirling the foam in her cup with a spoon. "So... I heard you played matchmaker with Yuji?"
Saori chuckled, shaking her head. "I only gave him a nudge. The rest was all him."
"Uh-huh," Nobara replied, smirking. "Maybe you should be a matchmaker more often. You know... for me."
Saori raised an eyebrow, surprised. "Oh? I didn't know you were interested."
Nobara let out a dramatic sigh, leaning her chin on her hand. "I'm not really, but..." She trailed off, her expression softening slightly as she glanced out the window. "There's you and Megumi, and if Yuji ends up with a girlfriend, that leaves me as the third wheel in all our hangouts. Like I'd ever want to be that pathetic."
Saori tilted her head, a thoughtful smile tugging at her lips. "Well, I can try, but no promises. What are your preferences?"
Nobara smirked, sitting up straight as if she were giving an official statement. "First of all, he has to be easy on the eyes. I mean, if I'm going to see him every day."
Saori nodded, taking notes in her mind.
Nobara continued. "Secondly, he can't be broke. I'm not looking for some freeloader."
Saori replied, "That's understandable."
Nobara added, "And third, he has to keep up with me—no slacking."
Saori laughed softly. "Okay, noted. Would you prefer to date someone in our world or outside?"
Nobara pondered for a moment, her fingers drumming lightly on the table. "Someone in our world, I think. I don't want to have to explain what curses are to some clueless civilian."
Saori leaned back in her chair, considering the options. "Alright, let's see. There's Aoi Todo—he's strong, definitely not broke, and he can keep up with anyone."
Nobara snorted. "I am not going to date someone who calls himself 'a man of culture.' Plus, I'd rather not spend every date hearing about his type of woman or some idol."
"Fair enough," Saori replied with a grin. "Then what about Toge? He's quiet, but he's definitely powerful, and he's a sweet guy once you get past the whole cursed speech thing."
