After a quick mission the four friends head to a cozy cafe for some coffee and drinks. The cozy café was bustling with chatter, the air rich with the aroma of fresh coffee and sweet pastries. Saori, seated at a table with her friends, casually stirred her drink as she glanced at Yuji, who was animatedly talking about how the mission went.
"So, Yuji," Saori said, leaning in slightly, her playful tone catching his attention. "How are things going with Aiko? You two have been hanging out a lot since Akihabara."
Yuji's face lit up, a hint of pink creeping onto his cheeks. "Oh, you know, it's been great! We've been watching that new series together and even binge-watched some classics. She's really into the same stuff I am."
Nobara, sitting across from them, raised an eyebrow. "So, are you two like... dating now? Or just friends?"
Yuji scratched the back of his head sheepishly. "Um, we're just friends for now. I haven't really made a move yet."
Megumi, who had been quietly sipping his coffee, looked up, unimpressed. "You're still stuck in the 'just friends' zone? You should do something about that, Itadori. No one's going to make a move for you."
"Yeah, well, it's not that easy!" Yuji shot back, a hint of frustration in his voice. "I don't want to mess things up between us."
Saori leaned back in her chair, a teasing smile on her lips. "Life's too short for what-ifs, Yuji. You never know unless you try. Just ask her out on an official date—maybe to that new ramen place you love?"
Nobara smirked, clearly enjoying the conversation. "Or you could take her to a magical girl movie. I hear those always get the romance going!"
Megumi rolled his eyes, clearly not impressed with the idea. "Don't listen to Nobara. Just be honest. If she likes you, she'll appreciate you being straightforward."
"Exactly!" Saori chimed in, her enthusiasm contagious. "And if she says no, it's not the end of the world. You two can still be friends, right?"
Yuji's expression softened, considering her words. "Yeah, I guess you're right. I should just go for it."
"See?" Nobara leaned forward, a glint of mischief in her eyes. "Now you just need to practice your confession in front of a mirror!"
Yuji groaned, his face turning red. "You're all the worst!"
Megumi crossed his arms, a small smirk appearing on his face. "Just remember, if it goes badly, I'll be here to pick up the pieces of your shattered heart."
"Thanks for the support, Megumi," Yuji replied dryly, though he couldn't help but chuckle.
As they continued their banter, Saori felt a sense of relief wash over her; Yuji was still her goofy, energetic friend, even while navigating the complexities of young love. The lively atmosphere of the café wrapped around them like a warm hug.
"So, what about you, Saori?" Nobara asked, raising an eyebrow. "Are you planning on playing matchmaker or just sitting back and enjoying the chaos?"
Saori laughed, shaking her head. "Nah, I'm just here to support my friends. Plus, it's more entertaining this way!"
Megumi smirked playfully. "Yeah, she has other, more important things to attend to."
Nobara rolled her eyes. "You guys are gross..."
"It's not what you think," Megumi replied, his expression remaining stoic.
Saori chuckled, then turned her attention back to Yuji. "Well, are you going to ask her out? Text her already!"
