Scene: Middletown Company's luxurious lounge, Chairman Ekundayo and Miss Faith sipped refreshing drinks, engaged in a relaxed conversation.
Chairman Ekundayo smiled warmly.
"Miss Faith, your speech today was exceptional. You have a gift for inspiring others."
Miss Faith's eyes sparkled.
"Thank you, Chairman Ekundayo. I'm humbled by the opportunity to share my story."
Chairman Ekundayo leaned in.
"I must say, your determination is contagious. You'd make an excellent motivational speaker."
Miss Faith smiled gratefully.
"Thank you, Chairman. Your kindness means a lot."
As they finished their drinks, Miss Faith glanced at her watch.
"Excuse me, Chairman. I should greet our honored guest."
Chairman Ekundayo nodded.
"Of course, Miss Faith. Go ahead."
Miss Faith departed, leaving Chairman Ekundayo alone with his son, Raymond.
Chairman Ekundayo's expression turned serious.
"Raymond, Rachel will arrive soon. You know what's expected of you."
Raymond's brow furrowed.
"Father, I understand my responsibilities, but—"
Chairman Ekundayo interrupted,
"At your age, I'd already had you. It's time you took your role seriously and started a family."
Raymond sighed.
"Father, I'm not sure I'm ready. We can't just—"
Chairman Ekundayo's voice firm.
"Raymond, your mother's wishes are clear. Secure the family line. Rachel's arrival is a reminder of that duty."
Raymond's eyes dropped, his jaw clenched.
"I understand, Father."
Chairman Ekundayo placed a hand on Raymond's shoulder.
"I know you do. Now, go greet our guests. Your mother will expect a full report."
Raymond nodded reluctantly, departing to fulfill his duties.
Chairman Ekundayo watched his son leave, his expression a mix of concern and expectation. The weight of family legacy hung heavy on Raymond's shoulders.
As I walked through the front door, exhaustion weighed me down. Justina greeted me with a concerned expression.
"Hey, welcome back! You look beat,"
Justina said, helping me with my bag.
I smiled wearily.
"Thanks, Justina. Long day."
Justina's brow furrowed.
"By the way, I've been searching everywhere for Grandma's antique necklace. I wanted to wear it to the party tonight, but it's nowhere to be found."
