BREAKING NEWS: Raymond Steps Down as CEO Amidst Scandal.

The news anchor's voice filled the hospital room:

"Developing story: Raymond, CEO of Middletown, has announced his resignation amidst mounting allegations. The chairman, already in custody for embezzlement and money laundering, now faces new charges in connection with the 12-year-old murder of Wellington Smith."

Footage of Mr. Raymond's resignation press conference flashed on screen:

"...in light of recent revelations, I have decided to step down as CEO, effective immediately."

The anchor continued:

"Sources close to the investigation confirm that Elizabeth Smith, Wellington's daughter, will testify in court. Her testimony is expected to shed light on the circumstances surrounding her father's tragic death."

A graphic displaying "Wellington John Murder Case: New Developments" appeared on screen.

The anchor concluded:

"The case is set to unravel the dark web of corruption and deceit that has haunted Middletown for decades. Elizabeth Wellington's courage in coming forward will bring justice to her family and the community."

Michael's eyes never left the screen:

"Justice is finally coming."

I nodded, resolve strengthening within me:

"I'm ready to face them in court."

Michael's hand enveloped mine:

"Together, we'll ensure the truth is revealed."

The hospital room fell silent, the weight of the upcoming trial settling in.

As the news report faded, I steeled myself for the challenges ahead:

It's time for closure.

I sat stunned, processing the revelation:

"The chairman...my father's faithful friend and member...killed my father."

The news still felt like a punch to the gut.

Just then, Dr. James entered the room:

"Elizabeth, I need to take your statement about the events leading up to your hospitalization."

I nodded, collecting my thoughts:

"Okay, Doctor."

Dr. James compassionate gaze encouraged me:

"Take your time. Tell me everything."

I began, my voice steady:

"It started with strange occurrences at Middletown. I discovered my family's involvement in embezzlement and money laundering...and then I found out about my mother's unauthorized IVF procedures."

Dr. James expression turned grave:

"And then you learned about your father's murder."

I nodded, tears welling up:

"The chairman...he killed my father."

Dr. James voice softened:
