I dragged myself home that morning, the exhaustion etched on my face. The clock read 6 am, but my body felt like I'd been awake for days.

My aunt noticed my frailty and insisted I rest.

"You're not well, dear. Come, let's get you home."

Grateful for her concern, I acquiesced. As she busied herself in the kitchen, preparing breakfast, I retreated to my room.

Lying on my bed, I attempted to process the events of the previous night. But my mind felt foggy, as if a veil had been lifted, erasing my memories.

The harder I tried to recall, the more my head throbbed. It was like someone had scrubbed my brain clean, leaving only fragmented thoughts.

One memory lingered, though - a nurse's call.

"Mum's regained consciousness," s

She'd said.

"Her name is Cynthia."

Cynthia... The name echoed in my mind, tantalizingly familiar. Yet, I couldn't place her. Where had I heard that voice before?

Frustration gnawed at me. What was happening to me? Why couldn't I remember?

As I lay there, questions swirled:

Was Cynthia a friend, a family member, or just a kind stranger?

Why did her voice stir something deep within me?

And what had really happened that night?

The uncertainty churned my stomach, making me feel lost and vulnerable.

Suddenly, my aunt's gentle voice broke the silence.

"Breakfast is ready, dear."

I rose, mechanically, my mind still grappling with the void in my memories.

With each step, I felt like I was walking further into the unknown.

Scene: Mrs. Smith's mansion, elegantly decorated with fine art and lavish furnishings. Mrs. Smith, a commanding figure in her late 50s, sat poised on a velvet armchair.

Doctor Sophia, a renowned obstetrician, entered the room, carrying a leather-bound medical bag.

"Ah, Doctor Sophia, thank you for coming,"

Mrs. Smith said, her voice dripping with sophistication.

"Of course, Mrs. Smith,"

Doctor Sophia replied, taking a seat.

"I've come to update you on Elizabeth's surgery."

"And?"

Mrs. Smith leaned forward, her eyes intense.

"The surgery went smoothly,"

Doctor Sophia reported.

"Elizabeth's recovering well. With proper care, she'll make a full recovery."

"Excellent,"

Mrs. Smith said, a hint of satisfaction in her voice.

"And the...other matter?"
