The morning after the beach bonfire, everyone gathered for breakfast in the hotel's open courtyard. The kids were already running around, giggling and playing, while the adults slowly joined the table, sipping their coffee and chatting about the day's plans.
Virat: "So, what's on the agenda today? More beach time? Or maybe some sightseeing?"
Jassi: "I vote for chilling by the pool. My legs are sore after that volleyball match yesterday."
As everyone settled down, the group couldn't help but notice how close Abhay and Kavya were. Ever since they had returned from Komal's engagement, there had been a shift—a new sense of comfort and attachment that was clear to everyone.
Harry: (grinning mischievously) "So, Abhay... what's going on, man? You've been awfully clingy lately. Something you wanna tell us?"
Abhay: (feigning innocence) "What? Me? Clingy? I'm just enjoying the vacation!"
Rohit: (with a knowing smile) "Yeah, right. We've all noticed how you haven't let her out of your sight for days."
The guys chuckled, and Abhay shrugged, trying to brush it off.
Abhay: (grinning) "Okay, fine. I might have gotten a little used to having her around. It's... comforting."
Surya: "Oh, we can tell. You've practically glued yourself to her since we got here."
The teasing continued as Abhay tried to downplay his growing affection. But deep down, the boys knew what was going on.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the table, the ladies were having their own conversation. Ritika, Anushka, and Devisha had been observing Kavya closely. They had seen how she managed everything with such precision at Komal's engagement, but they also noticed how Abhay was always around her, seeking her attention. Today, however, it seemed different.
Ritika: (leaning forward with a playful grin) "So, Kavya, what's the real deal with you and Abhay? He's been stuck to you like glue since we got here."
Kavya: (laughing nervously) "Oh, come on bhabhi,it's nothing. He's just... you know, seeking comfort. It's been a tough few weeks for him."
Anushka: (raising an eyebrow) "Tough? Or is it more than that? Because from where we're sitting, it looks like he's completely smitten with you."
Kavya blinked, surprised by Anushka's directness.
Kavya: "Smitten? No way! It's not like that. We had an arranged marriage, remember? We're still getting used to each other. This clinginess is just... him coping with everything that's happened."
Devisha: (gently but firmly) "Kavya, wake up. I know you're saying that to protect yourself, but trust me, I've seen Abhay these past few days. He's not just coping. He loves you."
Kavya: (shaking her head) "No, no. You're misunderstanding. He's been through a lot, and I'm just there for him, that's all."
Ritika: (grinning) "Oh really? So you're saying that the way he constantly touches you, the way he looks at you, and how he can't keep his hands off you is all just... comfort?"
Kavya blushed slightly, biting her lip, unsure of how to respond. She glanced down at her drink, swirling the liquid around, trying to avoid their knowing eyes.
Kavya: (softly) "It's not like that. We're just trying to make this work... like any couple in an arranged marriage would. He needs support right now, and I'm giving him that. That's all it is."
Anushka: (giving her a pointed look) "Kavya, do you really believe that? Because everyone here sees how much he cares about you. And from what I can tell, you care about him too."
Kavya felt her heart race as the reality of their words sank in. She had been so focused on helping Abhay through his struggles that she hadn't stopped to think about her own feelings. Could it really be love? Was she just too afraid to acknowledge it?
Kavya: (with a shaky laugh) "Look, it's an arranged marriage. We're just figuring things out. He's affectionate, sure, but that doesn't mean he's in love with me. It's just..."
Ritika: (cutting her off) "Girl, trust me. I've seen the way he looks at you. That's not just comfort. That's love."
Kavya sighed, leaning back against the pillows, feeling conflicted. She didn't want to get her hopes up, didn't want to assume that what they had was more than it was. But deep down, a small part of her wondered if maybe—just maybe—they were right.
Kavya: (softly) "I just don't want to make it a bigger deal than it is. We're still figuring things out, and I don't want to misread the situation."
Anushka: (with a smile) "Kavya, it's not misreading when the signs are this clear. Just give it a chance. Let him show you how much you mean to him."
Ritika: (nodding) "Exactly. He's not just coping; he's falling for you. You should talk to him, Kavya. This kind of connection doesn't happen by accident."
Kavya glanced toward Abhay, who was still laughing with the guys. She saw the softness in his eyes whenever he glanced at her, and it made her heart race. Maybe she was in denial, but she didn't want to rush things.
As the conversation continued, the guys had moved from teasing to more serious questions, noticing Abhay's almost unconscious closeness to Kavya throughout the vacation.
Virat: "On a serious note, Abhay... you sure this is just about Aparna? Or are you starting to see Kavya in a different light?"
Abhay: (scratching his neck awkwardly) "Honestly? I think I've always seen her that way... I just didn't realize it until recently. She's been there for me through everything, and I... I don't know, I can't imagine not being around her."
The boys exchanged glances, their smiles growing wider.
Surya: "There it is. You're smitten, man."
Jassi: "Does she know?"
Abhay: (shaking his head) "I haven't told her. I don't want to rush her. She thinks I'm just leaning on her for support, but it's more than that. I'm just waiting for the right moment to tell her."
As breakfast wrapped up, the group got ready to head out for another day of fun, but the conversations lingered in their minds. Abhay was determined to find the right moment to tell Kavya how he truly felt, while Kavya was left contemplating if she was ready to accept the depth of their connection.
The day continued with more laughter, teasing, and group activities, but there was an undercurrent of anticipation—everyone knew something was brewing between Abhay and Kavya. And sooner or later, the truth was bound to come out.
