The dim light of the hospital room flickered as Kavya lay there, the weight of the moment settling in. Abhay was pacing the floor, eyes wide, his mind a jumble of thoughts, trying his best to focus on her. The nurse had just informed them that Kavya was 9 cm dilated and that it was nearly time to move her to the delivery room.

Doctor: gently "Kavya, we need to take you to the delivery room now. You're almost there, just a little more, okay?"

Kavya nodded, trying to remain calm. But suddenly, her eyes widened in realization. The contractions had stopped for a moment, and in the silence, a thought hit her like a bolt of lightning.

Kavya: weakly, looking at Abhay "Abhay... did you... did you inform the team?"

Abhay froze mid-step, the blood draining from his face. His mouth opened and closed, like a fish gasping for air. The idea of not informing their crazy, tightly-knit group of friends and family hit him with a sudden surge of panic. He blinked, trying to comprehend the question, but all that came out was a strangled sound.

Abhay: blinking, horrified "Uh... I... I didn't—"

The color drained from his face faster than a gust of wind, and he collapsed back into the chair, as though his knees had forgotten how to support him.

Kavya: eyes widening, now struggling to breathe through the realization "You didn't?!"

Abhay looked like he'd seen a ghost. His eyes went wide, and his voice turned into a high-pitched, panicked squeak.

Abhay: freaking out "No, I didn't! Oh God, no! Rohit... Virat... Shubman and Ishan... Rahul, Jassi bhai... they'll... they'll kill me! And the bhabhis... they'll never let me live it down... oh God, Harry and Jaddu bhai are gonna make so much fun of me... I—oh my God, I didn't tell them!"

As he started running through the list of names—each person's reactions flashing vividly in his mind—he couldn't take it anymore. The pressure of the situation, the impending labor, and now the realization that he had forgotten to inform everyone sent him spiraling.

His vision blurred as panic overtook him. The last thing he remembered was hearing Kavya's voice calling his name, and then the darkness creeping in.

Kavya: frantically "Abhay?! Abhay!!"

But before she could even finish her sentence, Abhay's body went limp. He slumped forward onto the chair, his face hitting the armrest with a dull thud, as he fainted dead away.

Doctor: slightly exasperated, but amused "Well, it seems someone's had a little too much excitement today. Nurse, get him some glucose, quickly!"

The nurse rushed over to Abhay's side, while Kavya, though in intense discomfort, couldn't help but chuckle despite herself. She had been through the toughest part of her pregnancy, she was about to bring their baby into the world, and yet here was her husband—fainting because he forgot to tell the team. She shook her head, trying to stifle a laugh.

Kavya: under her breath, sarcastic but fond "Oh, Abhay... only you."

As the nurse placed a glucose drip into Abhay's arm and worked on bringing him back to consciousness, Kavya turned her head towards the doctor. The tension was thick, but she felt strangely calm amidst the chaos of everything happening around her.

Doctor: checking Kavya's vitals "We'll take care of him, Mrs. Sharma. Just focus on yourself. It's time."

Kavya nodded, trying her best to ignore the fact that her husband was knocked out cold, probably dreaming of his impending doom from the team's reactions. She chuckled again, but the laughter was short-lived as another contraction hit.
