Jamie POV

_Longing and Distance_

I couldn't shake off the ache.

Seeing Alex ignore me, day after day, was crippling.

My heart longed for her smile, her laughter.

But she'd made it clear: stay away.

My friend, Mike, noticed my distress.

"Jamie, you can't give up," Mike said.

"Confront her again."

I shook my head.

"No."

Mike raised an eyebrow.

"Why not?"

"Because she asked for space," I explained.

"And you're just going to give it to her?" Mike pressed.

I nodded.

"She needs time."

Mike sighed.

"You love her, Jamie."

I did.

More than words could express.

But Alex needed space.

And I'd give it to her.

Even if it killed me.

Here's the next scene:

_Missing Each Other_

Weeks turned into months.

The distance between us grew.

But so did the longing.

I missed Alex.

Her smile.

Her laugh.

Her presence.

I'd catch glimpses of her on campus.

My heart would race.

My soul would ache.

I'd want to run to her.

Hold her.

Tell her how much I loved her.

But I wouldn't.

I'd respect her space.

Alex, too, felt the void.

She'd glance at me in class.

Our eyes would lock.

For a fleeting moment.

The connection remained.

Strong.

Unbroken.

She'd quickly look away.

Leaving me with a deep sigh.

And a heavier heart.

One day, while studying in the library.

Alex sat across from me.

Close.

Yet far.

We exchanged glances.

This time.

We didn't look away.
