Scene 89 (continues): Interior / The Style's Attic / Night

PRESENT TIME. Harry (21) and Louis (22) are sitting in the attic, watching some old pictures together.

HARRY: "This picture is the reason why I believe I'm the one who invented selfies."

LOUIS: (laughing) "Oh, do you now?"

HARRY: "Yeah, totally. Look at the year, 2002. The word selfie wasn't even invented yet. I should definitely be getting credit for this."

LOUIS: (laughing) "You have to do something about it... like right now."

HARRY: "I know." (laughs) "I took that selfie right after I came out to my parents."

LOUIS: "You took a picture of that moment?"

HARRY: "Of course I did. It was one of the most important moments of my life. How could I not?"

LOUIS: (staring at the picture) "You looked so young."

HARRY: (proud) "I was 8 and half."

LOUIS: "Your eyes look puffy here. Were you crying?"

HARRY: "Yeah, I cried. It was weird to see my dad crying, you know? It got me a bit emotional."

LOUIS: "He cried?"

HARRY: "Cried is an understatement. He was sobbing so much that he couldn't even speak."

LOUIS: "I'm sorry."

HARRY: "Oh, no, don't be! He was crying because he was happy actually."

LOUIS: (frowns) "Was he?"

HARRY: "Yeah, he already knew I was gay before I told them, but my mom wasn't so sure about it so they decided to bet on it and my dad ended up winning. That's why he was crying. He never had to do the dishes ever again."

LOUIS: (laughs) "That's nice." (gets serious) "I think my dad would..." (sighs, gets sad) "He'd probably die or something."

HARRY: "A lot of people think so but they are always wrong, you know? Parents always end up understanding. Especially nowadays with... all these stuff, like gay rights and Ricky Martin's twins and shit."

Louis laughs really loud.

HARRY: (laughing too) "Oh, look at you. You may not know who Oprah is but you definitely do know about Ricky Martin, don't you?"

LOUIS: (still laughing, a bit ashamed) "Busted."

HARRY: "It's alright. We all had a Ricky Martin phase. It's normal."

LOUIS: "I'm definitely feeling better then."

HARRY: "Back to your dad, I'm sure he'll be fine with it."

LOUIS: "I don't think so. You don't know him as I do."

HARRY: "Then tell me about him."

LOUIS: "He is the tough type, the type of dad who doesn't like surprises, at all. It's like he has already planned mine and my sisters' futures and all we have to do now is follow the directions... on the dot, no questions asked."

HARRY: "I'm sorry to hear that. Sounds hard."

LOUIS: "It's not as bad as it sounds. He is actually nice, he is just... very strict sometimes... or most of the time."
