INT: Fiona's Office 09:09 Thu

(Maryann, Fiona)

Maryann marches in.

Fiona: Sorry, Waylon, I have to go, looks like trouble's-a-brewing.

She hangs up the telephone.

Maryann: Mind telling me why my daughter's on report?

Fiona: Ms. Jones, please be seated. I'm sure you're aware about the new initiative for ill-behavioured pupils.

Maryann: Having them on report to random teachers? What's that gonna achieve?

Fiona: It lets me keep an eye on them without being there. Your daughter is just one in a long list of pupils on report, and I don't have time to keep an eye on absolutely everybody so that's why they don't directly report to me. If you see a problem with my approach, wrote it up in an email, don't just storm into my office. Good day to you.

Maryann: You're in for it.

Fiona: I don't advise trying anything. I've heard you're hanging on to your job by a thread already.

Exit Maryann.
