Chapter Two - Reality Hits

BELLA'S party was met with plenty of trepidation and it wasn't just on Nova's side either. The morning of was normal as living with Vampires could. Nova woke to teenagers rushing around as they readied themselves for school. This time round Nova would have company as Rosalie and Emmett were supposedly in Africa on a college trip, but in reality, they did go to Africa for a hunt, but now had returned and had been put to use by Alice's constant and endless demands. Rosalie was putting up the many lights that Alice had left instructions for, and Emmett was being told to put up fairy lights down the long driveway. 

Nova sighed as Alice grinned at her again a knowing smile in her eye as Nova sipped her coffee. "we missed your birthday" Alice commented and Nova nodded slowly, her mug lowering carefully as she shot the hyper teenager a look. 

"Yes" She replied slowly "I was kind of preoccupied with work" 

"I know - Carlisle said" Alice waved away as she grinned - Emmett and Rosalie now entered the kitchen with their arms full of presents

"Alice" Nova warned "You didn't" 

"Oh we did" Emmett commented with a smirk as he placed the beautifully wrapped gifts in front of the witch. 

"Please just enjoy them Ma" Jasper had joined this time with a very large bouquet which made Nova's eyes water "Not for you, then for me" Nova felt herself calming and accepting the gifts down and she shot Jasper a look. 

"Not fair" she warned the empath. She sighed before hugging Jasper as he handed her the beautiful bouquet "Thank you seriously" 

"We sent Draco some too" Alice replied dancing around the island and handing her an envelope 

"I can't open them now" She commented softly "Carlisle isn't here" Carlisle had long been at the hospital for his twelve-hour shift. 

"Carlisle knows what we got you" Rosalie encouraged "He'll be giving his own later" Emmett let out a wolf howl and sent Nova a wink 

"We'll be out the house for that one Mom" he commented Nova sighed before rolling her eyes and looking at each of her children in turn each with an encouraging nod as she tore open the envelope. 

"Oh Alice" She replied hugging the pixie. "Paris really?...Oh.. I haven't been in so long" 

"I remembered you saying you used to go every Christmas time with your mom, and well I thought we could change tradition, you could go with your two daughters instead" Rosalie nodded too, as Nova allowed for some tears to flow as she hugged them both tightly 

"I'd love to - I can't wait" Nova commented, she placed the tickets carefully down before going to the small box of the island, it was square and she opened it carefully. It was a white mug with writing on the side. She let out a laugh as she read the writing and she saw the poop emoji.

"Mom's little shits" Nova giggled as she looked at each of the names. "Oh Emmett i love it" She squealed as the puppy-like vampire tackled her into a hug and he grinned as she reached up to ruffle his hair. 

"Carlisle said you'd like it" Emmett commented and Nova shook her head placing her mug next to the tickets. She grabbed the next present. A very small box, which had a label bigger than the box itself; she opened it and gasped at the car key.
